Quarter final draws -

Malaga v Borussia Dortmund

Real Madrid v Galatasaray

Paris St-Germain v Barcelona

Bayern Munich v Juventus

They don't do the semi-final draw at the same time now, apparently. That last tie should be a cracker.

matty_b -> RE: European football (15/3/2013 12:00:37 PM)

And the Europa League -

Chelsea vs Rubin Kazan

Spurs vs Basel

Fenerbache vs Lazio

Benfica vs Newcastle

Nice to see the English clubs have avoided eachother..

Wonder pass by Alves btw.

OPEN YOUR EYES -> RE: European football (2/4/2013 9:29:05 PM)

This ref is pants.
Does every tackle now in Europe need to result in a card?,Joke.

James2183 -> RE: European football (2/4/2013 9:48:43 PM)

As much as you have to admire the football that Barca play I cannot warm to them when they bitch and whine like they do.

They're the Dawson's Creek of football.

There bitching and whining doesn't bother me nowadays because I just find it really humorous.

I had a bigger issue with the refs tonight.PSG for all of there hard work got an extremely lucky goal and it makes you wonder what the linesman and 4th official([sm=happy07.gif]) were looking at because Ibra was so blatantly offside.

They don't bitch and whine any more than every other 'top' club these day's. It only gets highlighted more because of their profile.

directorscut -> RE: European football (3/4/2013 8:38:38 PM)

LOL @ Eboué on the second goal.

What clowns would sign that guy?

OPEN YOUR EYES -> RE: European football (3/4/2013 8:52:56 PM)

Malaga vs Borussia Dortmund is of greater interest personally.
Madrid were always going to cruise this one.

Dirk Miggler -> RE: European football (3/4/2013 10:14:11 PM)

Pretty comfortable for Madrid. Messi v Ronaldo would be a mouth watering final but Bayern look really strong, I fancied them at the start of the season and I won't change my mind I think they could cause both Real and Barcelona serious problems, both can at times look awful at the back.

OPEN YOUR EYES -> RE: European football (3/4/2013 10:19:54 PM)

Thinking ahead to the Final, I would really like it if it was Real Vs Barca.
Ronaldo vs Messi, the rivalry of the two clubs, the atmosphere both sets of fans can create, all unraveling at Wembley.
Mouth watering prospect.Probably wont happen though.

Yeah pretty much, it's all there to make one of, if not THE greatest final in the competitions history. Just Bayern though ! They are going to piss on someone's parade !!

galvatron -> RE: European football (4/4/2013 10:54:48 AM)

So looks like Madrid are through. I still think Bayern could joke, Juve certainly missed Vucinic's pace up front. The other two ties are gonna be close. If Messi's injured who's going to score for Barca? Is Villa out for long?

Professor Moriarty -> RE: European football (4/4/2013 3:11:44 PM)

Now that the CL warm up games are out of the way, its time for Europe to welcome the big guns of the PL back to centre stage.

Home wins for Chelsea and Spurs, but trouble for Newcastle at Benfica.

Goodfella -> RE: European football (4/4/2013 9:58:56 PM)

Your heart goes out to Spurs fans right now. That's almost certainly the end of Gareth Bale's season right there. Ankle's completely strapped up.

Skiba -> RE: European football (4/4/2013 10:58:00 PM)

Broken ankle it looks like...no wonder with the weight of carrying 10 other players all season...etc etc

Ah, bollocks. Spurs have a very good team, but Bale is a game-changer, especially in Europe. Others showed tonight how much they contribute too and Spurs can still bounce back.

directorscut -> RE: European football (4/4/2013 11:02:33 PM)

I get the feeling the injury is being over-hyped...

... Just like Bale himself!

Bam!

galvatron -> RE: European football (5/4/2013 1:23:31 PM)

Poor result for the Toon last night. I'm not convinced we can keep Benfica from scoring at St James' in the 2ng leg. They're a prolific attacking team.

Fancy Chelsea could win this competition, Lazio as 2nd favourites.

horribleives -> RE: European football (5/4/2013 1:45:41 PM)

Aye, I could see us getting a few goals but if they score one we're pretty much buggered. Mind, a better ref next week wouldn't go amiss (some of Benfica's play-acting was embarassing - that little cunt who got Ameobi booked was a fucking disgrace) and preferably a linesman who understands the offside rule.

superdan -> RE: European football (9/4/2013 9:23:21 PM)

Cracking match in Turkey right now. I'd piss myself if Madrid Munson their way out of this tie.

Scott_ -> RE: European football (9/4/2013 9:26:51 PM)

I don't like Galatasaray but it would be hilarious if Real fucked this up. Eboues goal was awesome.

directorscut -> RE: European football (9/4/2013 9:36:52 PM)

Dortmund - greatest comeback ever???

MOTH -> RE: European football (9/4/2013 9:41:27 PM)

mad stuff in the Dortmund-Malaga game.
More offsides than you could shake a stick...er...flag at!

Nah. That would be United's comeback against Bayern in the 99 final! In fact seeing Dortmund getting those decisive goals the first thing that came to my mind was that final. Awesome stuff from Dortmund. Wow.

Man Utd had 80+ minutes to comeback!

elven -> RE: European football (9/4/2013 11:17:44 PM)

Dortmund had 180 minutes to win against Malaga...

United won the trophy...

Unless Dortmund do the same... then United definitely had the better, shocking comeback...

Saltire -> RE: European football (10/4/2013 1:18:13 AM)

Great game, though felt for Pellegrini as he's a great coach. Was routing for Dortmund though and the celebrations with the crowd were fantastic also - and what about that mad display prematch, complete bonkers!?! [:D]

If you're not trailing it's not a comeback...
