Fluke Skywalker -> Older songs you've recently discovered (15/8/2012 6:15:44 PM)

So what tunes have people just gotten into that have been around for years

Toby Monroe -> RE: Older songs you've recently discovered (15/8/2012 7:18:58 PM)

Lots of T Rex. And some Black Uhuru.

tommyjarvis -> RE: Older songs you've recently discovered (15/8/2012 8:13:10 PM)

Scorpions [sm=worship.gif][sm=worship.gif][sm=worship.gif]

I very rarely get into "new" music these days tbh, it's always older stuff I discover.

Blue Oyster Cult, beyond Don't Fear The Reaper/Cities On Flame anyway.

Brilliant, used to love Scorpiosn, not listened to any of there stuff for years.
Funny story, once when Vixen supported Scorpions, the posters said Scorpions - Vixen, which basically in German meant Scorpions - wank off.
I don't speak German so no idea if this is true or not. I imagine the v is pronounced w though.

Fairly recently (over the last 6 months to a year) I got into The Zombies. Their debut (and only) album, Odessey and Oracle is phenomenal. I've also been llistening to a shit load of Marvin Gaye. What's Going On is probably the best album I've listened to this Millenium and his duets album with Tammi Terrell is a thing of beauty.

Yeah, that's a terrific album. I've been listening to a lot of older stuff recently: Moby Grape, Modern Lovers, Cream, Big Star and so on, and a lot of old funk and blues as well. Can't recommend Mississippi John Hurt, David 'Honeyboy' Edwards or Howlin' Wolf highly enough.
