JOHN CONNAH!

Rhubarb -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (3/8/2012 2:20:06 PM)

Probably not.

porntrooper -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (3/8/2012 3:44:34 PM)

Yea, probably not. Shame though cos I quite liked Terminator Salvation and I'd be more than happy to see more films follow that continuity with Bale as Connor and Yelchin as Reese.

clownfoot -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (3/8/2012 3:51:10 PM)

Isn't he joining Real Madrid?

If he has any sense he'll stay away from that dead duck of a franchise. And any film directed by McG.

More American Psycho. More Patrick Bateman.

I was going to say that surely is his most intense role, but he'll never better his performance second time around so best to leave it.

Scruffybobby -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (4/8/2012 4:22:01 PM)

I'd like to see him do something with Spielberg. He got an excellent performance from Bale in Empire of the Sun when was about 12 or so and just starting out. It would be great to see what they could do together now Bale has a quarter century of experience under his belt. It could be awesome

I'm still waiting for Newsies II

You could argue very easily that he has been playing a very close version of Bateman in the Batman trilogy... Plenty of similarities.

Batman listens to Phil Collins?

Batman IS Phil Collins.

Cool Breeze -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (26/8/2012 12:54:33 PM)

Id like to see him play James Bond.Directed by Chris Nolan of course.

UTB -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (26/8/2012 1:31:11 PM)

I'd like to see him do some comedy.

Yeah, I've always wondered what a Spielberg/Bale rematch would be like. Hard to think what would best suit though.

Dannybohy -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (28/8/2012 2:46:06 PM)

I want more Pat Bateman!, his only great role IMO.

actionmike -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (2/9/2012 9:25:01 PM)

He would defo make a brilliant James Bond. The Dark Knight Rises has some other crew and cast who would be good for Bond too.

thedrin -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (2/9/2012 11:27:23 PM)

I've never seen Bale play anyone remotely like Bond so I don't know why it's assumed he'd be good in the role.

Besides he's not blond enough to play Bond.

There were some parts of American Psycho that were funny and that was mostly down to him.

Fluke Skywalker -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (2/9/2012 11:33:31 PM)

We need to see a prequel to Harsh Times when we see him in action as a disturbed Special Forces soldier - by the way if you haven't seen that movie rent it now, one of his best performances.

Rob -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (4/9/2012 11:22:46 AM)

I really liked Harsh Times. It's not a great film but Bale is great in it.

I'd love to see him team up with Fincher.

Bale was excellent in it. Unfortunately Freddy Rodriguez was not.

LEEJGM -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (4/9/2012 1:18:57 PM)

No way. Bale's not going to get burned again. Salvation was utter, utter shit and Bale's involvement was one of the main reasons.

if Cameron gets involved somehow (producer? script?) or it gets an A level SF director (R Scott would be ideal but unlikely due to BR2/P2, but theres new guys like the District 9 guy, Duncan Jones etc) then Bale would probably want to be involved in T5....if its anyone else (McG, Fast and Furious guy, Ratner, or any other guys like that) then probably not...

That would be assuming it continues on T4 and doesn’t veer into alternate timeline reboot territory like Star Trek with a new cast (which is probably what will happen as i cant see any studio wanting to do a proper full on sequel to T4 with Bale, Yelchin, Ron Howards daughter etc…although saying that if Bale wanted in I doubt anyone would say no)

Maybe if Looper is a big BO success (it already seems to be critical hit) it will help spur on T5 with maybe more focus on the paradoxes/loopiness aspect of the series, which might attract a decent director, and maybe Bale will want in again

LEEJGM -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (4/9/2012 2:18:42 PM)

There're a lot of 'if's there. The thing is, Terminator should have ended with T2. T3 was sub-par (with a good ending) and Salvation was rubbish. No director worth his/her salt would get involved with this franchise because its good reputation has been tarnished by two inferior sequels. The whole thing is a mess. The best bet is to push forwards a series of video games that properly capture the future war to finish the story. Also, they should green light The Sarah Connor Chronicles for a third series (not going to happen but hey) because that was a much better sequel to T2 than Rise of the Machines was.

DancingClown -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (4/9/2012 2:34:57 PM)

I really liked Salvation. Couldn't give two shits what anyone else thinks of that.

UTB -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (4/9/2012 2:55:38 PM)

I like Salvation too. I mean, its no classic, but I expected bobbins and it wasn't. Some ace moments - the helicopter sequence was one of the best cgi scenes in years.

They'll end up rebooting it anyway. 5 years max.

AxlReznor -> RE: now Bale is done with batman will he reprise his most intense role? (4/9/2012 2:57:12 PM)

I liked Terminator Salvation, too. I was glad they didn't go for the same old robot sent back in time to kill someone storyline and actually progressed into the future that they'd been talking about for three movies. It's not a perfect movie, and the plot is a bit of a mess, but it satisfied me. Thought that Bale was a bit of a weak point in the movie, though... he was basically Batman playing John Connor. Sam Worthington and Anton Yelching were both brilliant.

Yeah on that basis Prometheus should never have been made.
