rawlinson -> Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:19:39 PM)

Tried this before and it fell on its arse, but let's try again. 100 choices. Shorts or features. I was toying with including t.v. as well, but maybe as individual eps rather than full series. Any opinions? I won't put a deadline, just work on them soon, and we'll see how many start coming in. I'll set up an email later today sometime.

Count me in!

elab49 -> RE: Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:23:36 PM)

Can I beg not TV series? It'd make it impossible to decide on a list.

No, ignore that. I have a list of 150. I'll just leave it at that and reduce it down.

rawlinson -> RE: Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:25:45 PM)

We could go 150 choices if you like.

How do others feel about including t.v. shows? Everyone should vote for Way Down Mexico Way if we do.

Rebel scum -> RE: Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:26:35 PM)

I'll try and put one in. If TV shows are allowed I'm pimping the hell out of Dangermouse and Spider.

Gimli The Dwarf -> RE: Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:27:11 PM)

TV shows would mean I could vote for Mr Tickle. It would also means that Simpsons would probably feature highly. Negatives outweigh the positives.

Mr. Bump, Shirley?

elab49 -> RE: Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:29:40 PM)

If they do get included - and it's just epis - then obs I'll find a space for Two Feet High and Rising.

Gimli The Dwarf -> RE: Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:30:11 PM)

Bump would get my vote but he gets all the attention. I was trying to make a point that other Mr Men exist besides him [:D]

elab49 -> RE: Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:32:25 PM)

You watching the Proms on Sunday Gimli?

Gimli The Dwarf -> RE: Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:34:50 PM)

Is that the W&G one? I'm in!

elab49 -> RE: Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:37:27 PM)

I think that's the date I saw.

Gimli The Dwarf -> RE: Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:38:16 PM)

Just checked. It's on Sunday but not got a broadcast date yet [:(]

elab49 -> RE: Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:41:51 PM)

Odd, it was the Rt I was reading. It says Radio 3, and I guess it'll catch up on the nightly show on BBC 4 starting Thurs.

Timbzy -> RE: Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:44:46 PM)

I think fans of film including tv shows in best film lists is incredible annoying. When compiling your best films of 2012 list, do you include something like Game of Thrones? It's kind of stupid.

My top five favourite alcoholic beverages are Licor 43, Scotch, Cherry Coke, Moscato and Rum. /sarcasm

Then don't take part.

Timbzy -> RE: Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:48:36 PM)

I would take part in a film one. Just offering my two cents on your earlier question: "How do others feel about including t.v. shows?" If you didn't want an answer, shouldn't have asked the question.

chris_scott01 -> RE: Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:50:35 PM)

I usually pass on animation as I don't feel like I've seen enough, but I'll give this a go. I've got 4 volumes of Looney Tunes waiting to be watched too.[:D]

Or maybe you could show a little politeness and not call something annoying and stupid just because you disagree with it?

elab49 -> RE: Animation Poll (27/7/2012 11:51:33 PM)

There are ways and ways of answering.

And there are several board lists that do cross-platform, so it wouldn't be unusual either. I say this as someone who agrees with you completely about people including TV shows on film lists [:)]

It should be noted though that you were one of the main people arguing in favour of including Looney Tunes shorts on the Children's television list. Hypocrite. [;)][:D]

elab49 -> RE: Animation Poll (28/7/2012 12:03:50 AM)

I accepted them as a TV programme though. I find it  a bit different to them because I didn't use to include shorts in film lists either - so they're a wee bit distinct for me.[:)]

rawlinson -> RE: Animation Poll (28/7/2012 12:06:26 AM)

The thing with animated t.v. shows is that I genuinely don't see them as that different from voting for entries in a series of animated shorts. Just because something was made for television, I don't see a world of difference in a 22 minute Simpsons episode to a 7 minute Daffy Duck short.

rawlinson -> RE: Animation Poll (28/7/2012 12:07:00 AM)

Also, banning t.v. shows would technically rule out Wallace & Gromit.

If they win oscars then they're films [:D]

elab49 -> RE: Animation Poll (28/7/2012 12:08:03 AM)

Short films/Oscar nominations - it's a short film shown on TV. [:-]

Not always first either - didn't Loaf get shown overseas before here too?

rawlinson -> RE: Animation Poll (28/7/2012 12:11:01 AM)

It's a thin line though. [:D]

Yeah, I think those lists are just as rediculous. Good to know someone agrees.

You do realise that nobody is forcing you to take part in any list?

I've been well aware since before the first time you mentioned it.
