porntrooper -> RE: Favourite moment in Nolan's Batman trilogy? SPOILERS (probably) (24/7/2012 8:34:44 AM)

From Batman Begins there are two for me, the first is a full scene, the whole Arkham Asylum escape. From the moment Batman appears in Arkham, taking down Crane's men, the fear toxin Batman, the back-up, that shot of him gliding down the stairwell and then the reveal of the tumbler and the chase sequence is just so good. It's easily my favourite action sequence from all three films and the Molossus soundtrack just makes it even better. Love it. My second favourtie from Begins is the final rooftop scene with Gordon and Bats. The first time I saw it and after having really enjoyed the whole film I was kinda on a high and the exchange between the two really sets up this great comic book world and the idea of escalation, and then there is the Joker card and Batman dives off the building. It was just a great fucking ending and the reveal of the card was one of my most memorable moments in cinema as there was an audible reaction from the crowd, some gasps and a couple of cheers as people knew we would get Joker in the next movie. That was great. In The Dark Knight my favourite scene is probably the interrogation room with Batman and Joker, its set up great by Gordon and then the reveal of Batman behind Joker (which really doesnt make any sense!) is just great and then having them chat before Joker starts to reveal the next step of his plan... awesome stuff. My other favourite scene is another Bats vs Joker..... the final exchange between Batman and Joker as Joker hangs upside down at the Pruitt building. I know people dont like Bale's voice during it, but it never bothered me. Batman was pretty much beat, he's worn down and exhausted so t have that breathless quality made sense to me and Jokers madness speech is really great. I also really like the way Nolan spins the camera so on screen Joker is 'upright' as it just makes it look kinda wierd and strange, totally fitting for Jokers last scene. In Dark Knight Rises I'd say it's the Bane vs Batman fight, probably my second fav of the whole series. Yea, it suffers due to some of Nolans directing/editing choices, and some blows dont look as clear as they do in some other scenes, but that is still a great sequence. I love how it all beings with Batman and Catwoman side by side taking down Bane's men, there is the betrayal and Batmans realisation that he's been led into a trap. The reveal that Bane knows who he is (how he knows is a fucking mystery, but it soudns great!) and then that brutal fist fight, during which Bane has some great dialogue. I loved that Batman is trying his hardest, he's screaming out forcing as much power and energy into his punches, but it's getting him nowhere. Bane tosses him around with ease and when he grabs Batman and pulls him into that iconic pose, well, that was just the icing on the cake. Really, really good. Second favourite was the Batman on Ice scene to start the finale...."Light it up"...... really wish they hadn't ruined that in the trailers.
