Sway -> Global Fat Scale. (13/7/2012 8:48:35 PM)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-18770328

I'm fatter than 63% of the world. I'm mostly like somebody from Germany.

elab49 -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (13/7/2012 8:49:49 PM)

Apparently Togo. Which confused me slightly, but that seems to be because in my head I have a biased view of people from Tonga and I seem to think Togo is the same place!

sanchia -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (13/7/2012 8:51:51 PM)

Barundi for me. I have a lower BMI than 76% of the world and 96% of the UK. (Where is Barundi?)

superdan -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (13/7/2012 8:53:14 PM)

25 bmi, lower than 77% of males in my age range apparently which means there's some right fat fuckers in this country given I'm not exactly svelte, but higher than 56% worldwide (which kind of emphasises the point).

Also apparently (and this is amusing given I'm whiter than a bottle of milk) I'm most like someone from Ghana [:D]

matty_b -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (13/7/2012 8:54:10 PM)

I'm Angolan.

Lower BMI than 87% of similar men in this country and 57% in the world.

Funkyrae -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (13/7/2012 9:09:35 PM)

It's a tad unfair that chart. Having Ethiopia at the bottom of the BMI index is a pretty harsh reminder that you're actually starving and malnourished.

Shifty Bench -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (13/7/2012 9:22:50 PM)

I'm Croation, BMI of 30, higher than 75% of males my age in the UK and 92% of males in the world. If everyone in the world had the same BMI as me, it would add 79,099,649 tonnes to the total weight of the world's population.

Well, that's depressing.....

horribleives -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (13/7/2012 9:26:16 PM)

Erm, what are you supposed to put in the last space (the one after country)?

elab49 -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (13/7/2012 9:28:18 PM)

UK?

You're most like someone from Grenada*

Oh yeah, I just love that they thought of adding that part [8|]

Shifty Bench -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (13/7/2012 9:41:52 PM)

Dude, I'm heavier than you, fuck, I'm heavier than everyone.

I must have done it wrong, I'll try it again.....

Felix -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (14/7/2012 12:19:04 AM)

I'm as fat as an Armenian. Which is nice.

That would be me, then.

BMI of 32%, higher than 87% of similar people in the UK, and higher than 97% of similar people in the world. Get in. Do I win a prize?

Can anyone beat me for forum fatty?

boaby -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (14/7/2012 12:31:56 AM)

68% of the world are less fat than me. I'm Georgian, or as near as damn it. 38% of Britons are fatter than me.

Though I've since had an epic dump. Which may well alter things significantly.

Also, phuck the test and its non-recognition of Scotland. Phuckers.

Yeah. I'm a bit drunk.

I looked at this earlier but i do not know how much i weigh.

FritzlFan -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (14/7/2012 12:46:06 AM)

I don't actually know how tall I am, but:

You have a lower BMI than 55% of males aged 15-29 in the world

Ditto. Nor my weight. So I guessed and ended up from Croatia.

Lazarus munkey -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (14/7/2012 5:57:07 AM)

I'm from Botswana with a BMI lower than 75% of males aged between 30 & 44.

It's better than a kick in the love-spuds from a bloke with big feet.

Haha, I shouted, 'well fuck you!' to the screen when it corrected me to UK after typing Scotland. If they'd let Scotland in as an option I surely would have been thinner than most of the country.

But still a pie in comparison to the rest of the world.

Rebenectomy -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (14/7/2012 9:35:22 AM)

Jar, I'm from Sweden (but..I'm wearing lederhosen).

Ha you are a mere slip of a lad homer. I too am apparently fatter than all the males in the world in my age group. Which is really motivating when you've nearly lost 2 stone and think you are getting thinner [:D]

Rinc -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (14/7/2012 10:04:21 AM)

elab49 -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (14/7/2012 10:06:11 AM)

It's a bit of an odd scale to go for given the slamming it's recently had as being fairly useless as it can't tell fat from fitness and the BMI not being 'fit for purpose'. Back when some idiot called Jessica Ennis fat. Which on this scale she apparently is.

Rinc -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (14/7/2012 10:09:02 AM)

My bmi has been close to overweight for the last few years but I've never been fitter or had more muscle (still not much). bmi is a load of rubbish. Body fat percentage is a lot more useful.

vader100 -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (14/7/2012 10:13:37 AM)

Yes the BMI does not take into account muscle bulk which is heavier than fat. Most front row rugby players are obese on the BMI scale yet the fitness levels are amazing.

For the record I am fatter than 98% of 30-44 in UK and fatter than the whole world! Yes I win at something finally.

OK I'm off to share a salad with my Micronesian buddies.

elab49 -> RE: Global Fat Scale. (14/7/2012 10:22:25 AM)

Wasn't the width of the waist suggested as a better measure? I didn't really read the article that closely.

That made me laugh when I read about it. I just imagined some gimp pouring over numbers, shaking his head and announcing that Ennis is fat, when all anyone has to do is look at her to see she's blatantly not. I mean, it's not even possible for there to be any confusion:

*Yeah, I seized the opportunity to post a picture of Ennis
