bereski -> Issue 279 (26/6/2012 11:15:00 AM)

September issue with Winter Preview

The Hobbit again? Probably not Skyfall and Lawless... I've no idea

jackcarter -> RE: Isseu 279 (26/6/2012 11:58:03 AM)

Quest For Peace 25th anniversary

hahaha that would be terrible. It might be Man of Steel though. I'm not to fussed at the moment haven't even begun to read the newest issue.

adambatman82 -> RE: Isseu 279 (26/6/2012 8:11:09 PM)

It's Bourne isn't it?

Scruffybobby -> RE: Isseu 279 (26/6/2012 10:58:30 PM)

278 is Bourne. We're already on to the next issue. I'd reckon Dredd (again) or Total Recall

d4nugster -> RE: Isseu 279 (27/6/2012 1:58:51 AM)

i'm cool with dredd. or rise of the guardians.

bereski -> RE: Isseu 279 (27/6/2012 1:15:49 PM)

Please no Dredd, last time with Dredd the cover was awful, this movie is probably going to be 2-star rating, one cover is enough. Total Recall is in August issue, so I doubt it

d4nugster -> RE: Isseu 279 (28/6/2012 1:48:55 AM)

i actually have hope for dredd, after having seen the trailer.

Man of Steel would be great.

buffster28 -> RE: Isseu 279 (1/7/2012 4:18:22 PM)

agreed - but wouldn't it be too early for that with the relsease date pushed way back ??

jackcarter -> RE: Isseu 279 (1/7/2012 8:30:38 PM)

Empires done the one year out covers before hasnt it?

Yeah they have been known to do that but its quite rare. The most recent example I can think of is Tintin.

buffster28 -> RE: Isseu 279 (4/7/2012 9:34:24 PM)

if its for a winter preview i'd guess at The Hobbit - thats the biggest release i can think of and probably 1 of the most eagerly anticipated . unless they go for Twilight as it has got a huge fan base

FilmFan123 -> RE: Isseu 279 (11/7/2012 6:26:41 PM)

Wouldn't be surprised to see a winter preview, and given the lack of cover material coming in the next few months it probably will be the hobbit. They'll have to start using 2013 films soon though they can still do Jack Reacher and Django Unchained before the end of the year.

bereski -> RE: Isseu 279 (21/7/2012 9:45:36 PM)

after today's two Superman teasers, I'd like to read something and see the cover with Man of Steel

film man aidy -> RE: Isseu 279 (22/7/2012 9:18:27 AM)

Would love to be proved wrong, but after the Man of Steel teasers, I don't think there is a cat in hells chance it will make the cover. With a teaser that slight, Waner Bros are obviously going to play their cards close to their chest for a little while longer. Maybe in a couple of issues time...

FilmFan123 -> RE: Isseu 279 (23/7/2012 3:18:19 PM)

Didn't get my issue, must be under embargo

nhassell -> RE: Isseu 279 (23/7/2012 7:11:30 PM)

Urgh, hope I get it on Wednesday, as wanted something to read on the plane when I go on holiday.

d4nugster -> RE: Isseu 279 (24/7/2012 1:39:44 AM)

any news yet on who's on the cover?

Yep, unfortunately we had to embargo, the copies are being mailed today (rather than before the weekend as usual), with Royal Mail estimating that (the lucky) 2% will get theirs tomorrow before it hits the shops, 90% will get theirs on Thurs, the official on sale date and regrettably 8% will get their copy after Thurs.

We hate to have to do this, and on most issues subscribers do get their issues early, but when a studio offers us something meaty we'd rather risk copies arriving a day or so late than not being able to give you that coverage at all.

So there you go, there's a chance that it may arrive late but you've got a tasty exclusive to look forward to.

FilmFan123 -> RE: Isseu 279 (24/7/2012 2:08:26 PM)

And the exclusive is..?

That's absolutely fair enough. I wouldn't want it any other way. It's just so frustrating on those few occasions when you can see the magazine on the shop shelf before yours has landed on the doormat. The villains are Royal Mail. Their prices rise and rise yet their service gets worse and worse. No apologies to any postmen reading this. [:)]

CHUFFSTER -> RE: Isseu 279 (25/7/2012 8:23:55 PM)

Hope my copy comes today, cant wait to read the cover story. Another excellent cover from Empire.

BudBaxter -> RE: Isseu 279 (26/7/2012 1:09:01 PM)

Mine turned up this morning. Looking forward to reading the articles on Dredd & Nightbreed.

Is it just my copy, or is the print quality quite poor in places, especially in the last third of the mag? Most of the pics look quite washed out & low res in the Re.View section.

On the plus side, I got the spine quote for once! [:D]
