This months theme is....

Water, Water everywhere


Photos on the theme of water, if you look in your kitchen you should have an ample supply of the stuff, failing that it can be also found in rivers, lakes, the sea and also, if you're unlucky, inside a broken Iphone.

Now, having seen some previous entries that would fit the bill - please remember that you can enter a photo into one round only, if it's spotted as a double entry you have to sit out of the round submit another picture

If you get no votes, you get no points (like a DNF in F1)

If you choose to enter, you have 21 days to post a picture that you have taken that meets the above criteria

New Rules for 2012 - Photoshopping is limited to Global Edits (i.e. they apply to the whole photo, not to one specific part) and cropping only

Posting will finish on the 22nd of June
Voting will run from 22nd June to 29th June

Though of a concept, thought I've give it a go, and nailed it in 30minutes, Ladies and Gentlemen I give you...

Full disclosure - I did do some photoshop work on this; specifically adjusting the RGB curve and hitting auto-tone [both global edits as per the rules]

EDIT - changed it for a less obnoxious size

I couldn't get the one I really wanted as in the last few weeks a ton stinging nettles have sprouted where I would have need to stand.

Since this was from the same session that was lucky for me last round...same global tweaks (contrast curve and duotoned)

Sanchia and Gingerdanial - I entered yours in the OP earlier.

Sharkboy - I think that's the shot you entered for on of last years rounds.

I did put a reminder in this months post at the top that previous entries are not allowed to be re-entered, and the penalties for doing it (disqualification for the round) - the point of the competition being to try and take new photos.


Rules are meant to be bent though, and as you are the first to transgress* I am willing to listen to reason (and the choice of the people) so depending on what the next 3 posters decide will decide if it will be allowed to enter.

(on the basis that it was entered into last years competition and each year is a separate competition)



Bare in mind - this will mean a change to the rules to clarify the position - precedent will be set. so in the case of Sharkboy vs Wiggum 2012

so will the next three posters please put in their post if they think that Sharkboy's entry should be allowed in? - yes or no



*also because you won the round with it, and you didn't get the benefit of picking the next theme (due to various circumstances), and because you're a mod, and I want it to remain a friendly competition.

I think the question isn't whether he should submit another, but whether he is disqualified from the round completely...

Also, it should technically be called water, water, everywheregate....

(For the record, I'm happy for sharky to resubmit another pic.)

Great title for a round [:)] I'm gonna go through some folders as i may have some photo's relevant as back up. I want to try and take a fresh picture if possible

Fantastic photo's already. It could be another toughie this one[:)] i love the water in Go with the Flow by sanchia. That water looks so creamy, i find it quite hypnotic too

Edit: shame about the entry by Sharkboy. It's a wonderful photograph

Ah fuck it i'll go with this [:D] luckily it's pissing down here and snapped this. I was wanting to hopefully go a wee bit abstract but i am a sucker for flowers and close-ups. Global edits are crop and (i think !) contrast + 5%. So i'm whopping out......

Just had a lightbulb moment! Assume that this was in an aquarium and that you weren't actually in the sea taking a picture with your mobile phone (my first thought was how did the phone work afterwards?) [:D] Love it!

Actually i'll admit the first flashing thought when i read 'mobile' was " how the fuck did she manage that?!?" [:D] and yes, i am blonde.

Anyway it is a great shot, and it does look as if you are in the dark depths of the ocean and not an Aquarium in Birmingham
