evilpickle4 -> OK, if no-one else will say it... (5/4/2012 3:44:18 PM)

... Schwing!!

On a serious note, with the release date in Oct 2012, and the note above stating that there is "still a chance for cast members to parachute in", that this film will not have the half-arsed rushed feeling of QOS. Bond deserves better. Still one of the cinema moments of 2012 though. Bond always is.

The content and tone of FACEBOOK announcement is startlingly unprofessional, but a tad hilarious all the same. Best of luck to her. The Turkey location filming should be a blast! [:)]

I agree that SKYFALL should (and I believe will) be special, but I just wanted to take issue the characterization of QOS as "half assed". I think the film was fully assed; everyone was doing their damndest to make it work, it's just that they ran into the constraints of the writer's strike, and that was a very tough hurdle for the production. Craig and Foster (who doesn't even speak English as his first language) were on set every day trying to rewrite bits and pieces of dialog themselves, restructure scenes, as they were the only people allowed to do so by union rules. EON did their best with QOS and I think it's clear their heart was in the right place - but between the strike and MGM's struggles, it was just a very hard time to be in the BOND MOVIE business.

Anyway, It's a unique film in Bond history, dealing so directly with the events of the film that preceded it, and for the record despite feeling that had things shook out differently it could have been even better, it's still undeniably one of my favorite movies in the franchise.

Cheers!

She's probably lovely, but she looks like a tramp in this picture.

Dunno what tramps you've been looking at lately mate but please tell me where to find them, coz if they look like her I'd happily bum around with them! What a catch![:D]

evilpickle4 -> Answer to King of Kafiristan... (8/4/2012 8:01:48 AM)

I refer to QoS as "half-arsed" because there was no story, no characterisation and certainly no sense to the movie. Did you really get something out of that film? I will admit that the opening sequence car chase was great. But from Bond's pointless opening words "It's time to get out" to the end scene of dropping the necklace in the snow, there is no story. Craig walks around with as much emotion as the Terminator on prozac. Oh, I could go on to include detached set-pieces (kitchen gun-fight stolen straight from Nikita) to the plane chase (again stolen from Con Air), but I won't. You like this film. Fair enough. People liked Titanic too. I never got that.

evilpickle4 -> That said... (8/4/2012 8:03:33 AM)

... I think Skyfall (although still not sure about the name), will be fantastic with Mendes as the helm. Now if only we could get Christopher Nolan to direct a Bond film...
