spark1 -> Aherne's Other Show (17/3/2012 2:14:18 PM)

wish bbc had continued 'appartitions', joe's equally scary supernatural thriller.

simonburgess -> Cupid (1998) starring Jeremy Piven & Paula Marshall. (17/3/2012 3:36:35 PM)

Created by Rob Thomas, the man behind Veronica Mars, this got cancelled during its first season. Piven's character claims to be the eponymous god of love, sent to Earth as punishment, where he must pair up a 100 couples before being allowed back to Olympus. Marshall plays his psychologist and she's unconvinced of both his claims and his methods.

It was smart. It was funny. It was doomed.

funny, that show was revived and recast in 2008 but also cancelled after a short run.
same thing happened to 'parenthood' which was cancelled in '91 and revived in 2010.

Speff -> "Firefly." (18/3/2012 10:41:49 PM)

Yet another "random-"Firefly"-reference-in-"Empire"-blog-shocker"....C'mon...'fess up - you just wanted to give another shout-out to the Browncoats out there, didn'ya? Didn'ya?!

Killian Mc Partland -> A damn fine list, but.... (18/3/2012 11:52:39 PM)

Twin Peaks should be on here!

Telford Boy -> A nice list but......... (19/3/2012 4:50:41 AM)

Could anyone tell me what has happened to "The Riches" ?

Telford Boy -> How about shows from the 1980's.... (19/3/2012 4:54:41 AM)

Why was Streethawk canceled after only 13 episodes ? I'm sure that was a series that could have run and run .

Pineapples101 -> Hang on... (19/3/2012 9:40:15 AM)

Mystery Science Theater 3000 should be top of this list.

smiteo -> Cmon! (19/3/2012 1:27:30 PM)

Any list like this has to include Carnivale!

Freaks, Carnies, Alpha and Omega, Clancy God Damn Brown

rigsterblaster -> What?! (19/3/2012 3:41:33 PM)

I did not know Bored To Death had been cancelled! I haven't finished season 2 but it's just hitting it's stride, it is the programme that made me actually like Zach Galifinakis.

But yes, more importantly, when Twin Peaks was cancelled it had reached an incredible creative peak and I needed  more, more black lodge, more Bob, but alas no. Fire Walk With Me was really interesting and dark but not enough to help me get over that second series finale.

:(

Radical_Duck -> (19/3/2012 3:42:42 PM)

Spectacular Spider-Man anyone?

Sanya -> Lame list (19/3/2012 8:16:45 PM)

What about Sliders., resent tv series about superfamily, awesome "V", not bad "the event" and from modern point of view Farscape end was good

partybee -> American Gothic... (20/3/2012 8:53:39 AM)

I loved that show...

rossabroad -> Ultraviolet! (20/3/2012 10:26:04 AM)

I was ickle but I loved that show, would have liked to have seen a follow to Flash Forward more than the likes of Invasion (which was pretty annoying later on)

oz_p -> Dark Angel (20/3/2012 11:07:41 AM)

How Dark Angel isnt on the list I dont know, created by James Cameron and staring Jessica Alba, it was brilliant, a mix of superhuman kids in a post apocalyptic future....

spark1 -> Spy Game (20/3/2012 12:36:00 PM)

sam rami did a cool 'avengers'-steed/peel-type show in the 90s that was gone too soon.
loved the theme tune as well.

Hanroro -> Odyssey 5 (20/3/2012 5:14:06 PM)

Yes yes very comprehensive but what about Peter Weller's Odyssey 5 - totally amazing and cancelled precisely when I was in the middle of watching it on dvd! I'll never get over that one, only Angel and Firefly smart more. Actually Angel dammit! [Spoiler] Well done execs - they've just started armageddon, time to cancel the show.

zeech1941 -> (20/3/2012 5:15:04 PM)

Dark Skies, Now and Again, Space:Above and Beyond. All great and all dead after 1 season! But somehow 2 and a half men won't die!!!

zeech1941 -> (20/3/2012 5:16:09 PM)

Sanya -> RE: (20/3/2012 8:38:16 PM)

Cause it's very cheap and it has some ratings

chrispdaniel -> Day Break (20/3/2012 9:57:51 PM)

I would have added Day Break to that list, the 2006 show with Taye Digs, Moon Bloodgood and Adam Baldwin. I think it was shown on Bravo in the UK. It was like Groundhog Day in that Taye Digs had to relive the same day over and over again. He was a cop who had to prove he was innocent of a shooting someone, and if memory serves he had to save his girlfriend's life too. My brief description doesn't do it justice. It was a top show while it lasted

I'd like to see a similar blog but on TV shows that have dragged on way too long. One Tree Hill anyone? It was pretty decent in the beginning, but how that got 10 seasons and the OC only 4 surprises me. Smallville went on about 6 seasons to long too.

spark1 -> Crusade (21/3/2012 10:07:32 AM)

the b5 spin off had some intriguing new characters, the return of some old ones and was a great way to dip into the b5 timeline.
and anything with gary cole in it is worth the watch.

BobLoblaw17 -> (21/3/2012 10:58:03 AM)

Party Down andTerminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles

rycki1138 -> (21/3/2012 3:10:52 PM)

Wonderfalls! From the creator of Pushing Daisies and Dead Like Me. Great show.

Baron Von Haz -> Missed one (23/3/2012 2:29:43 AM)

I would have to say Carnavale deserves a nod too. Great show

SortingStuffOutMan -> (23/3/2012 2:30:15 AM)

You missed Rubicon, AWESOME show

spark1 -> Channel 5! (25/3/2012 11:48:08 AM)

surprisingly this channel had a few cool UK tv shows around 2002-3 like 'surburban shootout', 'respectable', 'swinging' and 'murder pervention'.

all too short a season and now c5 relies on US shows and docs.

spark1 -> Profit (27/3/2012 10:00:29 AM)

strange show where the anti hero plots and plans in the boardroom then goes home to sleep naked in a cardboard box in his penthouse.

spark1 -> RE: (28/3/2012 10:11:59 AM)

the creator of that show is now writing for similar show 'homeland'.

oh, and 'the riches' lasted 2 seasons before being cancelled.

spark1 -> ITV2! (28/3/2012 12:21:56 PM)

shame itv2 did not renew 'no heroics', a superrhero comedy made you finally forget about 'my hero', and also 'fm' with chris o'dowd and kevin bishop.

variety rates the best 1 season wonders on US tv in last 10 years-

http://weblogs.variety.com/on_the_air/2012/03/ranking-the-one-season-wonders.html

they are right about 'undeclared'.
