TRM -> Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 6:07:42 PM)

At Rawlinson's request, the next decade poll is going to be his favourite decade. Expect a hell of a lot of pimping for his favourite porn films [:D]

Email address is: empire70slist@hotmail.co.uk

As for a deadline, we havent decided one yet, but there will be a couple of months to catch up on some new films. As before, lists of 25/50/100 are welcome, as well as the lists being a mixture of shorts and features.

elab49 -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 6:26:48 PM)

Anyone care to guess what'll come after Jaws, then? [:)]

rawlinson -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 6:37:34 PM)

Taxi Driver beat it in the 1000 list, could well do the same here. Although I'm thinking The Godfather is most likely.

Will you be pimping the films that turn you on? Digby the Biggest Dog in the World and Watership Down?

You've never seen Watership Down? Go buy the dvd and get the tissues ready.

Because it's sad. Not because it really will turn you on.

I hope.

Rhubarb -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 7:27:23 PM)

It has Art Garfunkel on the soundtrack, thats the sad bit

rawlinson -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 7:39:17 PM)

The rabbits don't make you sad? Heartless.

[:D]

I know Homer has it on dvd so I might see if I can borrow it before the poll closes.

My mum has it on DVD as well if you're interested.

I might feel a bit worse about keeping your mums dvd for a period of time [:D]

[:D] I'm sure Hughes would prefer a movie where the rabbits are killed off one by one.

The Bunny Suicide books are like love poetry to him.

You're just randomly naming films that won't make my 100.

Unlike Watership Down which, of course, will. [:)]

rawlinson -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 8:30:11 PM)

Yeah, but if the 1000 thread is anything to judge by, Taxi Driver will be on the majority of lists, and I think The Godfather is likely to nail at least 3/4 of them.

elab49 -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 8:33:57 PM)

People need to seriously watch more films from the 70s [>:][:D]

Rebel scum -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 8:39:41 PM)

I'm down for this, I'm more likely to get one done for this decade than the 20s.

Oh, and Godfather will be nowhere near my list. Godfather 2 might, though.

impqueen -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 10:01:35 PM)

Iíve got 15 films in my seventies DVD pile any suggestion would be nice and Iíll compile a list. [:)]

rawlinson -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 10:06:18 PM)

Watch Real Life.

Rebel scum -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 10:15:25 PM)

Fantastic Planet

Rhubarb -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 10:15:51 PM)

Alot of you will have seen it but those who haven't - Vanishing Point is amazing.

rawlinson -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 10:16:53 PM)

It is. Two Lane Blacktop is better though.

Rhubarb -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 10:18:50 PM)

I disagree, despite the pop alumni in that film.

rawlinson -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 10:22:57 PM)

But it also has Warren Oates.

Also, can everyone watch Cooley High before voting?

elab49 -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 10:23:38 PM)

Goodbye Girl [:)]

elab49 -> RE: Decade Poll: 1970s (5/2/2012 10:25:39 PM)

Actually, checking, Impqueen has just watched the highest 70s entry on my film list.

Am I allowed Bill Douglas as a single entry?
