Is it just me, or did I hear the F word?

Nicky C -> Saw the trailer in 3D the other day... (27/1/2012 9:17:35 AM)

... before Hugo, and quickly took off the glasses, stared up at the ceiling and admired the exquisite plaster reliefs on the theatre ceiling. It really was lovely. Very intricate. Looked old, too, but lovingly cared for. I love old cinemas, don't you? As for the movie, I know Empire have to be nice when previewing because I used to write for magazines myself. They have to wait until they've seen the finished product before saying what I will say right now, which is that being in the presence of the trailer was a genuine f*cking embarrassment! Happy Friday, everyone.

J_BUltimatum -> disappointed (27/1/2012 10:06:54 AM)

I was intrigued by this movie until I saw this full trailer. Puppy Love? Really?? May wait for this one to show on TV, unless Sean Bean has a scene stealing performance...

Kayotik -> RE: disappointed (27/1/2012 10:09:06 AM)

I think it looks light hearted and entertaining.

Problem is now everyone expects that if an old story/fairytale is having a new adaptation, then it has to be dark and gritty and adult.

It is a children's story after all and that's what this looks like, a nice and stylish family film.

It's funny really, the people complaining about how a child's film looks too childish for their taste...

Whistler -> A few things... (27/1/2012 10:34:55 AM)

"Huntsman" looks way better.
Based on Singh's Immortals, I'm really not optimistic.
And "The Movie Event Of The Year"? Do they actually know what's coming out this year?

There were films out at the beginning of of January that were touted as "The Film Of The Year!". I think even The Iron Lady had quotes of "The Film Event Of The Year!".
It's just an extremely overused marketing slogan. Pretty much sums up most marketing compnies.

Suverlo -> (27/1/2012 11:52:18 AM)

looks utter mince

princessa -> RE: (27/1/2012 6:06:53 PM)

It looks ok...i agree with the commenter who said that people expect adaptations of old fairy tales to be dark and gritty now.

This film is going for the laughs and family audience so it might do well.  I do feel that the way its been shot in terms of the colours used makes it look quite gearish and cartoony.  Not my cup of tea.

BTW Lily Collins in gorgeous.

Madhava -> WTF? (27/1/2012 6:12:17 PM)

Did he really just say, "I'm a fucking idiot"?

"One of the most beloved stories of all time..." (Is about to be butchered)
"...is coming to life in the motion picture event of the year" (just bullshit!)
