Jamemily -> Apology (24/1/2012 1:59:18 PM)

No idea why this was posted twice

JonathanMardukas -> Shame on the Academy!! (24/1/2012 2:03:49 PM)

No Fassbender?? Disgraceful!! I think that is the biggest oversight in all the above nominations.

danclay77 -> Shame and Take Shelter (24/1/2012 2:08:28 PM)

How Fassbender and Shannon have not received a nomination is a disgrace. Both better than Pitt and Oldman (although I enjoyed their films).

olieb -> tintin (24/1/2012 2:10:11 PM)

Where's Tintin???

HarryR -> What the?!?!? (24/1/2012 2:11:56 PM)

Where in the name of Zues's butt hole is Tin Tin's nomination. A shoe in for best animated. Winning that award at every other ceremony and yet here doesn't even get a nomination. What the FUC..........

moviebuff_11 -> Snubs (24/1/2012 2:12:59 PM)

No Fassbender, Shannon (definately the best performance of the year), or Senna for documentary feature
?????

Preston2012 -> Terrible -.- (24/1/2012 2:15:25 PM)

Can't believe the Oscar nominations this year. some terrible films this year such as Beginners being nominated in Best Supporting Actor for Christopher Plummer, clearly overlooked Alan Rickman for Harry Potter. Animation is worse, Tintin wasn't even nominated and rubbish like Puss in Boots and Rango made the cut. Hope Rooney Mara wins for Dragon Tattoo over Streep, she did her best in a film that was about as interesting as banging your head against a brick wall. Safe to say I'm not watching this year.

takethecannoli -> RE: The 2012 Oscar Nominations Are Here (24/1/2012 2:17:08 PM)

Has anyone seen Bullhead (best foreign language film-Belgium). I've seen it (I'm from Belgium :p), but didn't think that much of it really. Interested to see what other people think of it. (Schoenaerts ,however, was really good in it).

And Oldman was the best actor in a leading role for me. Great performance. (A 'shame' Fassbender wasn't nominated).
Beste film: Tree of life, but Drive was better.
And it's really puzzling that Drive didn't get a film editing nomination.

TomBowler -> (24/1/2012 2:18:39 PM)

When best sound editing is the only nomination Drive gets while Transformers gets three, the world has gone turvy topsy. I hope Bret McKenzie gets an Oscar.

filmburner30 -> (24/1/2012 2:18:55 PM)

No Senna in the documentary section !!!!!!!!!!!!

megank13 -> Shame on the Academy!! (24/1/2012 2:20:37 PM)

just been listening to Kermode's opinion on the Oscar nominations on 5live & a little bit shocked to hear him say that Transformers Dark of the Moon is now an Oscar nominated film for Sound Editing...seriously?! surely there are other films who deserve some recognition in that category than TRANSFORMERS DARK OF THE MOON! OH & also why they didn't nominate Michael Fassbender for Shame I'll never know...SHAME ON YOU ACADEMY. but aside from those calamities, I'm glad The Artist is being nominated in lots of categories. delightful film LOVED IT.

evild edd -> We need to talk about Kevin.... (24/1/2012 2:21:09 PM)

.....or apparently not. The best film of the year (for anyone with taste) has been cynically overlooked.

@moviebuff: Senna didn't even make the longlist, so its absense had been known for some time. Also ridiculous.

Phil Chandler -> (24/1/2012 2:21:32 PM)

I AGREE TIN-TIN SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOMINATED FOR ANIMATED FEATURE. ALSO WHY ROONEY MARA IS NOMINATED IS A MYSTERY TO ME...NO WAY IS HER PERFORMANCE AS GOOD AS NOOMI RAPACE IN THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF "GIRL". GOOD TO SEE GARY OLDMAN NOMINATED,...BUT HE WON'T WIN.

ronniem -> The Academy have lost all credibility over the last decade... (24/1/2012 2:22:04 PM)

Yawn...lost interest when The Dark Knight didn't even get a nomination for Best Pic in 2008...That just showed that the Academy are clueless mugs not to be taken seriously...always the same year in year out. Nominations for Woody, Clint or Coen bros for anything they direct and some boring artsy film noone even watched for Best Picture...so predictable and frankly, a snooze. How Michael Fassbender doesn't get an acting nomination for Shame is beyond me. Tintin's also nowhere to be found...honestly what are they smoking over there :D NO DRIVE??? Really???

ronniem -> Yawn... (24/1/2012 2:22:50 PM)

ChudMonkey -> RE: (24/1/2012 2:22:55 PM)

Worst Oscar List I have ever seen - 'Drive' only nominated for Sound Editing, nothing for 'Shame', 'Take Shelter', 'Senna', Tyrannosaur', '50/50', 'We Need To Talk About Kevin', 'Another Earth'........Hollywood, hang your heads in shame....still nice to see Jonah Hill get a nod for Moneyball...he'll lose out to Branagh or Plummer but he deserves to be there

Pixaroholic -> Tintin?! (24/1/2012 2:23:27 PM)

What about Tintin?? Was it not eligible?? :/
Really happy to see that both Tintin and War Horse was nominated in the music category though! :D

megank13 -> (24/1/2012 2:24:35 PM)

sorry didn't realise it was 3 nominations for Transformers Dark of the Moon...IT'S THE APOCALYPSE

ronniem -> oh well... (24/1/2012 2:26:29 PM)

No Best Director nominations for Christopher Nolan, considering his filmography, just emphasize how much of a joke these awards have become

ronniem -> Yawn... (24/1/2012 2:27:11 PM)

No Drive???

Whistler -> (24/1/2012 2:28:57 PM)

Where the f**k is Drive! I know The Artist will win all the big ones, and I'm happy with that, but Drive at least deserves a nomination. I'd also slap in Melancholia over The Tree Of Life.

alpha_005 -> (24/1/2012 2:34:03 PM)

No Michael Fassbender, Tilda Swinton or Albert Brookes:-( Also I think the animated film catagory shows what a poor year it was for animation.
