That's a shame. See I'd like to play it myself but no way I'm forking out £35 in light of universal panning by critics/fans alike. Like I said, it looks fantastic.

I was sold on this with the first trailer but the second, while looking great just seems odd. Ada is obviously the new big bad which doesn't bode well for her future and I can't understand why Chris hasn't been paired with Jill. That makes no sense at all. Yet again we get some random partner who'll proberly not continue past this entry. I'm digging Wesker Jr though. I read that since him and Sherry have genetic immunity to the virus their section of the game will be built around CQB and mele attacks. Should be interesting. One things for sure, it's defo involved beyon classic Resi. So in all there's 3 campagins and I'm hopeing each one is a decent length say 6 to 7 hours. I'd be dissapointed if each one was only three hours long.

Well, reports suggest the whole game will be around 30 hours long.

Yup, three different campaigns that can be tackled in any order, all adding up to a 30 hour game. Presumably 10 hours each, and they all tie in. Good times.

I really with they'd stuck with the template of RE4. It was an outstanding game, and was very successful in updating the game mechanics while maintaining the ethos of the series. Like there's not enough freaking shooting games.[&o]

TBH Capcom have now said that the series - the main one, not inc the like of Revelations (great game) - will continue down this action route. CVG or IGN had an interview with the producer of the RE6 and he stated they had to include the action elements in order to guarantee appeal to western audiances. So actually it's our own fault for buying the latest Call Of Duty every year. It truly sucks but there you go.

As I said ... it's looking tasty but we've mostly seen cinematic clips etc.

Sadly it's true but as mentioned if they are doing a 30 hour campaign and three different ones well ... it's something new and they are trying to satisfy long time fans and trying to grab in others. It's a business at the end of the day I understand that but my gamer side obliviously doesn't want everyone to pander to the CoD fan.

Alas looking forward to it.

There are no reviews, it's still at the trailer stage following the PAX East and Captivate shows. Operation Raccoon City on the other hand has been slated for being a mess.

I've had it since launch and its not nearly as bad as reviews have made it out to be, sure some of the boss fights are irritating (fighting 2 tyrants in a small enclosed space for example) but as a whole its pretty playable. Shooting's  solid, masses of zombies, crimson heads (yup returning from RE Remake) and hunters and you get to revisit RE2/3 locations.

Plus you can use enemies to your advantage by making them bleed, thus drawing the zombie attention to them, so in a way its somewhat tactical, especially when there's shit loads of baddies on screen.

However, each character's powers were pretty useless so i never bothered, but generally i had a lot of fun with the game and online is rather enjoyable too, especially hero mode.

The first reveal trailer interested me as it seemed to split the game between action and suspense with the two main characters. The E3 demo made me lose any interest I had in it. Too much action, no suspense and it still has that bloody screen tear.

It looks like RE2 fed through the gaming structure of RE5... now I loved both so I have tbh, from the looks of this early footage I think this one will be a definite purchase for me in October.

No idea how you think it looks like RE2. Far too action packed.

With that trailer and the game footage released the week before this holds very little interest for me now. Resident Evil and survival horror has been dead since RE4.
