Why is it pointless? The Verhoven version bared little actual resemblence to Dick's original story. If anything this new adaptation is supposed to be sticking closer to the source material.

Yes, he is dead. I fail to see how that should deter a good film being made about him though. I believe this one's about the events leading up to his assassination, yes? Knowing the outcome doesn't mean it has to 'suck'.

I was clearly just stating what I think the general consensous is with regards to these films.
I'm basically saying "this could suck or it could not"
I havent made any assumption that it will be one way or the other.
With regards to the films you have highlighted in my little list.
Abraham Lincold Vampire Hunter.The films intentions are already set havent they?
It not exactly going to be a serious film.It will most likely be a silly,comic take on a very important real-life character.
How its going to be pulled off could swing one way or the other ie silly fun or silly rubbish.

Sorry I didnt know the history of said film fictional book past.
I was merely judging it on the classic Arnie film which I believe was a good sci-fi,gory action movie and I'm indifferent on rether it should be remade.
Avengers
I think you and every knows that throwing more characters into a film,especially one where every character in it is there own leader is hard to pull off.The X-men films were very up-and-down,with the Last Stand being a mess of a film due to many ideas and characters.
Iron man 2 also had an element of how not to incorperate more characters.
This is the major problem,but it could swing one way or the other.
I just dont want to see characters such as Hulk be filler in a movie while not having much of a bearing on the overal scenes/story.
Its definetly one film where the director and screen writers need to get the most out of each character for the film to be worthy to its fanbase
Kill Bin Laden
Could be a great movie.Catherine Bigalow has good history with regards to Political Films ie such as Hurt Locker,K-19.
My only problem with this production is the fact that, will it be a 'America vs Bin Laden'story,which was shown here there and everywhere once the news broke of Mr Ladens death.Is this film going to come across as a very pro-american film?
And how would that respond in other area's of the world?
Again these films could go either way.All have the talent.
Maybe the article should be :What MIGHT suck.
