Timon -> Lock-Out - Escape From New York... IN SPACE! (5/12/2011 3:52:47 PM)

Well, that's what it sounds like.

Starring Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace and Peter Stormare. Directed by James Mather and Stephen St. Leger.

A man is wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. He's offered his freedom if he can rescue the president's daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.

So it'll be "Escape Velocity from New York" then?

Timon -> RE: Lock-Out - Escape From New York... IN SPACE! (5/12/2011 4:31:51 PM)

Guy Pearce looks like he's having fun with it though...

And I tend to be surprised by these moderate budget, European-financed sci-fi films. I liked Pandorum, for example.

I like the look of this.

This looks like one of those mid-90s sci-fi movies. You know, like Timecop, or Dredd, or Wing Commander. Some nice cheese in there.

Apart from the TV series looking effects it looks okay, could be fun

A sci-fi actioner with a sense of humour? About time.

Timon -> RE: Lock-Out - Escape From New York... IN SPACE! (27/1/2012 12:38:35 AM)

Now called MS: Maximum Security One internationally...it still looks great fun.

DONOVAN KURTWOOD -> RE: Lock-Out - Escape From New York... IN SPACE! (27/1/2012 10:53:45 AM)

Looks awesome! Bring it on. Love these euro action movies

princessa -> RE: Lock-Out - Escape From New York... IN SPACE! (27/1/2012 6:00:15 PM)

Love the trailer shame they have called it MS: Maximum Security One bit of a silly title.  Should have just called it Lock Out instead.

As for the movie Maggie Grace is in this and she makes some awful choices however Guy Pierce is pretty good at picking good pictures so we will see...hope its good.

musht -> RE: Lock-Out - Escape From New York... IN SPACE! (27/1/2012 6:41:22 PM)

Nice to see Joe Gilgun getting a decent stab at a movie role as well, I've only be made aware of his talents through Misfits but I like him and I'm interested to see him as a baddie

OPEN YOUR EYES -> RE: Lock-Out - Escape From New York... IN SPACE! (11/4/2012 7:14:06 PM)

Looks...predictable.
==============================================================================
President has daughter in a high security space-station-prison which has now been overtaken by its deadly inmates.
And The only guy to "save the day" is a risky,over confident cop (Pearce).

From the Director of TAKEN.

==============================================================================

Director of TAKEN and starring Maggie Grace?,Crikey! no wonder it looks rubbish.

I swear Guy Pearce hasn't aged over the past decade...

Exactly what I was thinking,in fact he even looks younger than he did when he was in Factory Girl and The Proposition when he looked far too thin and gaunt. Pleased to see he's put on some weight and for this film he's certainly put on some bulk.
Am liking the look and sound of this film and yet I have to be honest I'm not sure I would be so much if Mr Pearce wasn't on board..

paulrod26 -> RE: Lock-Out - Escape From New York... IN SPACE! (18/4/2012 4:14:21 PM)

Lockout was a kickass ride and Guy Pearce completely nailed it. I'll definitely be watching it again!

A lot of films are rehashed plots of older films but with a slight slant. As long as its done well and is enjoyable to watch.

st3veebee -> RE: Lock-Out - Escape From New York... IN SPACE! (19/4/2012 3:47:37 PM)

Really expected this to be  solid 4 star film. Of couse its all subjective, but I've decided its the Marley documentary this weekend instead.

Guy Pearce, in space, with big guns and rifles as well? How could this of gone wrong [X(] (I can't even tell what this smiley is). DVD purchase in the future.
