I thought Cars 2 was ok. The natural elements of Brave look wonderful, but I'm less impressed by the human characters.

Not so sure if the Scots will like being depicted as drunk, ugly men who yearn for a scrap but it looks decent enough. Hope the slapstick element (woman runs into wooden post) is toned down and the clever comedy (the wimpy son hiding behind the brute) a bit more prevalent.

A lack of class and an over familiar plot was what I got from it myself. Trailers mean almost nothing of course and it looks pretty.

Don't know, maybe some of them, but none of the accents seemed too strong.

Is there a story here? Looks less-than-impressive to me. My kids are far from excited. Toy Story 4 anyone? As for the accents, Kelly Macdonald and Big Billy have been plying their trades in the states for years. You don't do that if they can't understand your lilt.

Its set in medieval Scotland, is called 'Brave' and the word "Freedom" is used at least twice in the trailer. Hmmmmmmmmmm, where have I seen this before? [:D]

I've got to say, her hair gives me goosebumps, especially in the first storytelling scene... I'd hate to see the hours the animators put into working all that out!

Looks good. It's nice to see someone tackle a female protagonist without making them a princess or an overcompensating "strong fearless heroine."

But, is the world ready to accept a Ginger Hero? [:D]

Less of the name-calling, please. And I think you'll find those are pretty much quotes from the Star-Spangled Banner rather than Scottish. And given they are American, the music sounds confused with more Irish sounds and the yanks love their Braveheart, I'd tend to assume it's more that than a working knowledge of the lyrics of Scotland the Brave.
