The Waco Kid -> Films where the bad guy wins (19/9/2011 7:31:09 PM)

i couldn't seem to find a thread on this (watch someone prove me wrong) and i think i've dumped this in the right place.
i got to thinking the other night about how mainstream film always has to have a happy bloody ending.
apparently to make a film in the States it has to have a "feel good factor" involved where the good guy/element of the film always wins over the evil aspect.
so i tried to think of a film where the evil actually wins the day and could i as hell think of one.
so just to prove a point can anyone name a film/s where this has happened (this isn't for homework i'm far too bloody old for that sort of thing) it's just out of curiosity that's all and the fact that the alzheimers is creeping in. [:D]

I think the intimation is that Scott Pilgrim is a dick, and remains so throughout the movie.

The intimation is correct.

True, but the cold hard reality is that the hero has been tortured to the point where he has gone insane. I'd chalk that one up to the bad guys.

It's been a long time since I've seen Shutter Island (Saw it once and it didn't really click with me) but I don't remember any of the characters being particularly bad.
