The Guns of Navarone, which is due out on Oct 24: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Guns-Navarone-Blu-ray-Region-Free/dp/B005DL809E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1315058116&sr=8-2

adambatman82 -> RE: Sony Classics Blu Ray (3/9/2011 3:10:18 PM)

Boyz N The Hood and Point Blank are coming out as part of the collection too.

adambatman82 -> RE: Sony Classics Blu Ray (3/9/2011 3:13:28 PM)

Oh, and Easy Rider, Gandhi and Midnight Express have already been released as part of it.

What a random bunch of titles. Sony know that anything will sell if you stick it in a fancy slipcase and number it.

They've obviously seen the number of Criterion toadies out there who would buy a rat-ass sandwich if it had the Criterion label on it.

But all these films are considered classics by many so I don't see the problem with the selection.

I can't seem to find Ghandi, Midnight Express or Easy Rider, can find versions of them that aren't a sony classic title though

Apparently they're being advertised with the original artwork, but most sites are still sending out the new ones. I know that Zavvi are sending out Easy Rider and Gandhi as part of their 2 for £12 offer at the moment. To be honest, you'll probably find better info here -

chrisrus -> RE: Sony Classics Blu Ray (4/9/2011 11:24:06 AM)

The Guns of Naverone is £7.99 on Amazon.

DONOVAN KURTWOOD -> RE: Sony Classics Blu Ray (4/9/2011 4:24:04 PM)

i got Stand By me and Bridge on the River Kwai, extremely pleased with both

homersimpson_esq -> RE: Sony Classics Blu Ray (10/10/2011 11:22:28 PM)

Hey, look at that. Who knew this forum had a page 2...

homersimpson_esq -> RE: Sony Classics Blu Ray (31/10/2011 10:00:09 PM)

Going through ordering these. Can anyone find Midnight Express in this format? It's the only one I can't find...

TRM -> RE: Sony Classics Blu Ray (31/10/2011 10:05:24 PM)

I know you dont check to see if there are other threads in the forum on the same topic, but you could at least look up a few posts where Adam has answered your question.

homersimpson_esq -> RE: Sony Classics Blu Ray (31/10/2011 10:08:39 PM)

I know you think little of me, but you could at least think I would have looked at Zavvi already. That particular offer a) is no longer on, and b) they don't have any of this version... [8|]

DONOVAN KURTWOOD -> RE: Sony Classics Blu Ray (31/10/2011 10:29:47 PM)

HMV has all of them in store in the 2 for £15 offer. I picked up Guns of Navarone today. The HMV i went to had Midnight Express.

homersimpson_esq -> RE: Sony Classics Blu Ray (1/11/2011 2:34:16 PM)

Cheers Donovan, I picked it up this morning. [:)]

DONOVAN KURTWOOD -> RE: Sony Classics Blu Ray (1/11/2011 6:32:11 PM)

glad to be of service, glad you managed to pick it up. I love these Sony Classics (the packaging etc). I've never seen Midnight Express and am pretty tempted myself

emogeek -> RE: Sony Classics Blu Ray (2/11/2011 9:22:24 PM)

They've got the four that I'm missing (Midnight, Boot, Rider and Hood) in my local HMV so think I'm probably going to grab these while I can.

Is it wrong that, had it not been part of this collection, I would have had no intention of buying BITH?  I just can't stand the thought of having a gap![:)]

chrisrus -> RE: Sony Classics Blu Ray (22/1/2012 10:58:14 AM)

Just happened to find this on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/From-Here-Eternity-Blu-ray-Lancaster/dp/B00AWN5B6I/ref=pd_rhf_gw_s_cp_6_BF9F
Does anyone know what #18/20 etc are? Got them all up to #17 now apart from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon which is proving to be difficult to find...
