Isn't that unused concept art from Avatar. [:D]

Unfortunately the Avatar concept art was more inspiring than that! [:D]

It’s really generic, sci fi 101 concept art. I’m hoping these were very early in the creative process or better still, fake.

Rgirvan44 -> RE: PROMETHEUS: Xenomorph ressurection? (21/2/2011 1:57:18 PM)

The art work looks fine, and fits in with the Alien universe. It isn't Scott and Camerons fault that their designs were used in countless mvoies/videogames since then.

So do something new as that’s no reason for complacency. It’s uninspiring, clichéd looking and generic as is in these designs.

We’ve explored workers in space and the military in that universe and the visual aesthetics that go with them sure but what else is out there? No reason different corporations, nationalities and species can’t have their influences thrown into the palette of this universe now. Plus, we still don’t know exactly to what extent this is related to Alien. Or what time frame. Or what region of space. When Scott stated that something new and unique had been born out of the Alien prequel creative process I hoped that would have been reflected not only in the narrative but also the look of the film. Still think it will. As I said, if these are real hopefully they will have been very early concepts.

[:(] The link no longer work.

Anyway more news on the Space Jockeys.

http://www.avpgalaxy.net/2011/02/21/animatronic-jockey-in-prometheus/

I thought they would be taller than eight foot but maybe judging by the one in Alien their legs might be stumpy.

I would rather things were consistent with what came before. It is the main problem with the Prequels and Star Wars - the designs are like night and day, and don't really work as a full universe.

They are doctor who concept arts.

The good news is someone at Pinewood has a twitter account and he has seen the Prometheus's set.

http://twitter.com/CineQ

'Looks so awesome. All thick airlock doors, corridors & bulkheads. Def. Part of Alien universe.'

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Back to the Alien 5 thread then? [&:][:D]

http://www.slashfilm.com/rumors-emerge-xenomorphs-prometheus/#more-98977

This is definitely going to be an Alien prequel I think. The non recognisable Aliens can be traced back to the Harvest script, which I still believe to be the basis for all this. There we had those crazy ant things until that dozy cat entered the equation and a larger organism was introduced. All this is nothing new mind. In the Colonial Marines and Aliens: Deadliest of the Species comic books of the 90’s they took this train of thought to the extreme. Those had Alien sharks in them!

Snake-Eyes -> PROMETHEUS (16/3/2011 10:23:18 PM)

This snippet of casting info has probably been mentioned elsewhere on the boards -

He's a cool dude. I'm loving his work in DARK BLUE.

Rumours on the Space Jockey's Xenomorphs

http://www.avpgalaxy.net/2011/04/06/potential-prometheus-details/#commentshttp://www.avpgalaxy.net/2011/04/06/potential-prometheus-details/#comments

Should be interesting for two reasons. First we had no idea what the Space Jockeys actually look like and we don't know what to expect once the xenomorphs explodes from the Space Jockeys. The second idea unlike the human/dog alien which only becomes hostile when reaching their full size. The space Jockey Xenomorphs will be a threat once around six foot tall and continue to grow. Unlike the other alien films, we will witness various forms the new xenomorph take when reaching adulthood.

Ghidorah -> RE: PROMETHEUS: Xenomorph ressurection? (21/4/2011 11:01:48 PM)

Big news at Pinewood. Not only was Tom Hardy aka Bane seen at Pinewood but outside were xenomorphs having a snack?

http://www.avpgalaxy.net/forum/index.php?topic=38499.0

I am not a fan of the CGI approach to the aliens. CGI often look fake and this take the fear away from the viewers. However I guess these six foot not fully matured xenomorphs has a totally different looks and require cgi for their fish like appearance? The Space Jockies are water base creatures.

Interesting

F**king Donuts! That wasn't Tom Hardy. That was Logan Marshall-Green. They look alike! Logan absolutely ROCKED in DARK BLUE. Mark my words, he's gonna be a show-stealer in PROMETHEUS.

So what is the latest news?

Do we think all this "Prometheus isn't an Alien prequel" could actually just be a smoke screen?
I think we WILL see the Space Jockey and LV 426 at the end.

I think it is pretty clear that the Space Jockeys are in this.

I do believe Promethesus is a prequel to Alien but at the sametime it own beast.

Alien introduce the xenomorph perfectly. The sequels never bothered reintroducing them because it was well handle in the original and Ripley could fill in the gaps to the next lot of cannon fodder. The prequel however has a brand spanking new crew and totally unware of the xenomorphs. There are two options

1. Re introduce the xenomorphs to a different crew.
2. Make the xenomorphs a secondary plot point while the ship is the primary.

Ghidorah -> RE: PROMETHEUS (12/5/2011 10:00:45 PM)

A member of AVPGalaxy may have stumbled upon a leaked image of a possible xenomorph.

Hey, I was on IMD this morning and noticed a thread, and saved this image (Didn't save the text) and I went to go check it once I got back from work, and went to check it again, it looks like it was removed (It was called "Prometheus Aliens")
Anyway, before I start to ramble, heres the the picture

The picture of the creature's head does show some common features to the traditional xenomorph. Mostly the jaws and the dome forehead. Sadly the image is very small but the design is very good.

Not to keen on it myself, although it's an improvement (if true) on old babyface.

Ghidorah -> RE: PROMETHEUS (14/5/2011 12:05:00 AM)

The picture turned out to be part of Giger FX.

Shame because I do like it.

Like the banner?

It's a shame the font doesn't match the one used for the Alien series.

Agreed. It'd be cool if the opening titles for the film had that similar 'hieroglyphic' type opening font of ALIEN.

Give it a rest darth....

As for the movie - it is fast becoming THE film of 2012 for me. Getting very excited about it.

Rgirvan44 -> RE: PROMETHEUS (28/6/2011 3:08:46 PM)

They are showing footage at an expo tomorrow.

Better be a trailer on the horizon.

Snake-Eyes -> PROMETHEUS (28/6/2011 3:46:09 PM)

I'm with ya there Rgirv - PROMETHEUS is THE film of 2012 for me too. Just the idea of Ridley returning to Sci-Fi is mouth-watering. I can't wait to see the first teaser trailer.

Interesting.

First I've heard of this, do you know anything more? What the expo is, where, what they're showing?

Am ridiculously curious about this film, as a huge Scott/Alien fan, the prospect of an adult themed sci-fi/Alien prequel is, for me, mouthwatering.
