- Which is the Dylan album with the song about Ed the Duck?

Dylan & The Duck (a live album featuring a duck quacking while Bob plays castanets)

No

It's where Jakob keeps his gimps.

I told you no.

- Love and Theft has 12 songs on it. Discuss.

I hear 12 is the exact number of times Bob has partook in a rusty trombone.

OKAY I ADMIT IT, ITS ALL TRUE. I WAS DOWN THERE THIS ONE TIME AND I WAS JUST SITTING DOWN DRINKING SOME HOT RIBENA AND SOME GUY CAME UP TO ME AND SAT DOWN NEXT TO ME AND WAS ALL LIKE 'YOU GOT ANY CUSTARD CREAMS' AND I WAS LIKE 'NO' AND HE WAS LIKE 'YEAH GET SOME' AND THEN I WENT INTO THE KITCHEN TO GET SOME AND ROBBIE ROBERTSON AND DYLAN WERE JUST THERE. JUST, JUST MAKING LOVE AND I WAS LIKE 'EXCUSE ME YOUR PENIS IS IN THE WAY OF THE BISCUIT BARREL' AND THEY WERE LIKE 'OKAY WE'LL MOVE'

Olaf -> RE: A Look At Bob Dylan's Discography With Stupid Questions (8/2/2011 10:42:17 PM)

I want to know the author's opinions on Bob Dylan's opinions on US remakes of British television series.

Epiphany Demon -> RE: A Look At Bob Dylan's Discography With Stupid Questions (8/2/2011 11:04:05 PM)

I heard through the grapevine that Bob is looking forward to the remake of Shameless because William H Macy is one of his favourite actors. However, he was less enamoured with the recent remake of Skins and the mooted American revival of Spaced, commenting that "it was a fucking shit idea".

A SPECIAL GUEST POST FROM A SPECIAL GUEST

BLONDE ON BLONDE (1966)

[image]http://www.thebeatleswhitealbum.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/BDBOB.jpg[/image]

Also Known As: The best double album ever. "We listened to it once and it just seemed to go on and on and on, forever and ever and ever" Paul McCartney once, errm, enthused.

What Does The Title Mean? It is thought to refer to a porn video that John Lennon showed him of two Hamburg whores. "Do you want me to throw up into that camera" Dylan is reported to have said, before being told he was doing it wrong.

What Is The Cover Art? Bob Dylan has been replaced by Tom Baker from popular TV show Doctor Who on the cover. And it folded out so you can see Tom Bakers legs. This makes no sense on the Tape, iTunes or CD editions of the album. Lack of forsight there, Bobby.

Critic Says ""the sound of a man trying to stand up in a drunken boat, and, for the moment, succeeding. " - Greil Marcus. Yes, it is a bit like that. I can see what he's trying to say. But its better than standing up on a boat, isn't it?

Croaky Bob-O-Meter 5, a taste of honey, and grit.

Joni Mitchell Hates: the allusion to The D-Train which everyone thinks is about the R 'n' B duo but which is she knows is clearly a reference to Bob Dylan's penis.

Bob's Hair Is: HUGE AND CURLY. Kevin Keegan must have looked at this record sleeve and said "I'd love it if my hair looked like that, love it"

Interesting Fact I've Made Up Related To This Album - Bob was so impressed with Tom Baker's ttime travelling skills, that he actually sent him to the future to find out how the songs went on this record, before they'd even been written, thus creating a Terminator style paradox.

Number Of References To Animals 5 - Fish, Mule, Scorpion, Dog and Cow. There is also a reference to Buck which may or may not be an allusion to a dog character from The Call of the Wind

Top 3 Songs 1. I Want You 2. Visions of Johanna 3. Just Like A Woman

Album Placing 3rd. Apparently. Still, I don't make the rules.

GUEST EDITORIAL, AS THAT SCUMBAG WONT UPDATE IT HIMSELF

JOHN WESLEY HARDING (1967)
[image]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/78/JohnWesleyHarding.jpg[/image]
John Wesley Harding ~ As I Went Out One Morning ~ I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine  ~ All Along the Watchtower  ~ The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest  ~ Drifter's Escape ~ Dear Landlord ~ I Am a Lonesome Hobo ~ I Pity the Poor Immigrant ~ The Wicked Messenger ~ Down Along the Cove ~ I'll Be Your Baby Tonight

Also Known As The LOL MOTORCYCLES one.

What Does The Title Mean? The title is a reference to the Pokemon Red addiction that Bob developed whilst recuperating from his accident. He nicknamed his Metapod John Wesley, and would regularly exclaim "John Wesley, harden" whilst in battle against Ratatas and Weedles. (his first Pokemon League winning team was Blastoise, Dugtrio, Zapdos, Haunter, Hitmonchan and Lapras.)

What Is The Cover Art? It's Bob and some Native Americans. For some reason. I can't tell if Bob is wearing a sweet hat or not as it is the same colour as the tree behind him. How irresponsible.

Critic Says Gordon Mills for Rolling Stone, 1968: 'So, there is this semi-recognizable cat on the front of the album out there in the woods, looking like some friend of Baudelaire, way back in 1844 in "Le Vieux Quartier" of Paris with a few friends from inside the walls.' Don't be silly Gordon, Baudelaire died many years beforehand. He could never have possibly met Bob Dylan. Pfft.

Croaky Bob-O-Meter - a solid 6. He's not ***SPOILER***gone all country singer***SPOILER*** yet, but somewhere in between.

Joni Mitchell Hates Native Americans. And the fact that Bob covered Jimi Hendrix, because as covered in the first entry Joni hates people who listen to other people's songs.

Bob's Hair Is Easily concealed.

Interesting Fact I've Made Up Related To This Album The song 'The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest' is a reference to British metal favourites and 'Breaking The Law' hitmakers Judas Priest, who are also thanked in the sleeve notes: 'Dear Judas Priest, keep rockin, RZ'

Number Of References To Animals a pathetic 2: wildcat and mockingbird. You sellout Bob. (though in an interview with Charlie Rose in 1973, Bob was quoted as saying 'I don't consider the homeless to be actual people, to be honest with you. I would call them subhuman, yes.')

Top 3 Songs 1. All Along The Watchtower 2. Down Along The Cove 3. The Ballad of Frankie Lee And Judas Priest

rick_7 -> RE: A Look At Bob Dylan's Discography With Stupid Questions (25/3/2011 2:21:11 PM)

Not sure if yours was solicited, Olaf, but I thought I better do a bootleg, just to avoid Epidural Demagogue's tiresome rage.

FOLK ROGUE (BOOTLEG, 1964/5)
[image]http://inlinethumb40.webshots.com/15207/2326912380103312614S425x425Q85.jpg[/image]
It Ain't Me Babe (w/Joan Baez), All I Really Want To Do, To Ramona, Ms Tambourine Man, Chimes Of Freedom, Backstreet's Back, Don't Think Twice, All I Really Want To Doe, Maggie's Farm, Like A Rolling Stone, They Call Me Muddy Waters, Phantom Engineer, Intro: We Want Bobby, Tombstone Blues, It Ain't Me Babe, It's All Over Now Baby Blue, I Loves You Porgy, Mrs Tambourine Man

Also Known As The Beige Album.

What Does The Title Mean? It's a misspelling of "Fuck rouge". Bob was a prominent anti-Communist and particularly hated the French ones.

What Is The Cover Art? A goat in sunglasses.

Critic Says Arnold Muhren from Village Voice called it "the greatest record I've never heard". He called Let It Bleed "Let It Blrrd", as his finger went on the wrong button of the typewriter, and described the Beatles' Sgt Pepper as "seminal, in the bad way".

Croaky Bob-O-Meter Three. He recommends lemon and honey, apparently it works a treat.

Joni Mitchell Hates Peter Yarrow. But don't we all.

Bob's Hair The word "wispy" is used all too readily in this crazy, mixed-up world of ours. And again here.

Interesting Fact I've Made Up Related To This Album This was the first time Bob "went electric", which is musical slang for plugging in his guitar so it got louder. Lulz.

Number Of References To Animals Eleven. He duets with a horse for three verses of It Ain't Me, Babe. Oh no, sorry, that's Joan Baez. Just the one reference, then, the bit in Phantom Engineer where he says Communists are "stya-yoopid, just like leetlee geenee peegs".

Top 3 Songs We Want Bobby (intro to electric set), I Loves You Porgy, Maggie's Farm
