Gimli The Dwarf -> RE: My Cinema Diary 2011 (3/1/2011 4:35:06 PM)

There was debate about this last year [:D]

It's really a list of cinema visits in date order, not all films in order of favourites.

TRM -> RE: My Cinema Diary 2011 (3/1/2011 4:35:13 PM)

This came up last year as well. This was meant as a month by month diary of cinema trips, whereas the other thread is ranked like the top 100 viewed this year thread. I think if you look back this one was around first if it makes any difference.

Edit: Gimli got there first [>:]

homersimpson_esq -> RE: My Cinema Diary 2011 (3/1/2011 4:45:17 PM)

[&:] The number of annual film watching lists here gets mighty confusing this time of year.

Just to clarify then, there's the top 100 thread which a) is for all films watched this year, and b) is more than 100 films
There's the Films of 2011, which are new releases watched, but in preferential order.
And then there's this one, which is new releases but in date order.

I'll move my affiliation over to this one then, since I was going to do a date order thing on the other one.

TRM -> RE: My Cinema Diary 2011 (3/1/2011 4:47:38 PM)

Yeah thats about it.

AngryDude92 -> RE: My Cinema Diary 2011 (5/1/2011 4:35:45 PM)

Got my space[:D]
January
6th-Somewere-Very Slow, yet strangly compeling and charming in parts 7/10
20th- The Kings Speech- Firth is excelent, with the film being strait up enjoyable and entertaining 8.5/10
21st- 127 Hours- Arm hacking is squirm inducingly great, rest of film very compeling with just a few to many flights of fancy 8/10
27th- Black Swan- Just plain awsome with an imence performance from Portman and a very enjoyable over the top premise 9.5/10

February
3rd- Barney's Version- Sweer and slightly touching portrait of a man if a little long at times 7/10

Dave B -> RE: My Cinema Diary 2011 (8/1/2011 6:17:47 PM)

2010 Cinema Diary

Dave B's Cinema Diary 2011

January

3rd - Of Gods and Men
9th - 127 Hours
9th - The King's Speech
22nd - Black Swan

Film of the month - Of Gods and Men. A powerful film full of great performances. Far from the stuffy and worthy film it so easily could have been.

Feburary

11th - True Grit
22nd - Never Let Me Go

Film of the month - Never Let Me Go. A real surprise and a film not easily forgotten. Difficult viewing at times but utterly absorbing.

March

5th - The Adjustment Bureau

April

14th - Source Code
25th - Thor

Film of the month - Source Code. An intelligent and fun piece of science fiction action. The lead performances are engaging and director Duncan Jones proves he can input the same intelligence into big blockbuster filmmaking, as he can with smaller scale films.

May

1st - Scream 4
20th - Thor
21st - Attack the Block

Film of the mont - Attack the Block. While a slightly disappointing experience, this has enough charm and fun set pieces to be worthy of your time. Just don't expect anything groundbreaking.

June

4th - X-Men: First Class
16th - Senna

Spider -> RE: My Cinema Diary 2011 (9/1/2011 2:01:36 PM)

Need to reserve my spot for this year. After a cinema binge in 2009 (where I hit the 3 figure mark), last year was a relatively quiet one. Currently unable to go much due to third year of uni exams and the like, but they couldn't have come at a worse time considering the amount of films out (and the ones I've already missed). Trust me, the minute that coursework is handed in on 17th January I will be straight down to the cinema!

gingerdaniel -> RE: My Cinema Diary 2011 (23/1/2011 4:46:07 PM)

I'm gonna start this online trend...

January

The Green Hornet - 7/10
127 Hours - 9/10
The Kings Speech - 8/10

March

Rango - 8/10, superb animation, can't wait for it on bluray

April

Thor - 7/10

May

Attack the Block 7/10
July

Harry Potter 8 part 2 - 8/10
Captain America - 9/10

These are at the cinema of course, i couldn't possibly maintain a list of dvds/blurays/sky movies watched, because it's probably 1 a day on average, and certain films will be repeated at least once a month!
