What upcoming anniversaries should Empire celebrate with a cover? (Full Version)

last few years theres been Raiders 25th, Star Wars 30th, Blade Runner 25th, BTTF 25th (probably missed a couple out as well)

Are there any ones you think they should do for 2011? (and if not a cover then at least a big feature or supplement with new interviews, insights etc)

maybe Aliens 25, Raiders 30, Top Gun 25, Superman II 30th?

I’m going with Get Carter (40th ann)

hopefully it wont be Potter or LOTRs

Jaws was released in '76 here wasn't? Although a 35th anniversary would be a little odd. Ferris Bueller is 25 years old next year too. Saying that, I think Aliens is the most likely, given that Empire have never dedicated an anniversary issue to the first film.

there was an Alien anniversary thingy last year - an Alien egg on the Clash of the Titans cover

the first Alien prequel is supposedly out next year (xmas?) so maybe something to coincide with that (e.g. both films on one cover or an 'Aliens' only subscribers cover)

I think an Aliens cover would be great. Disappointed I didnt get the Aliens cover for the greatest 500. Went for Terminator instead.

least you had the choice, subscribers got stuck with Godfather

refresh my memory - Empire didnt do the entire 500 covers did they? it was only top 100 right? I was hoping for a Wrath of Khan cover but it didnt make the 500[sm=34.gif]

They did a Raiders 25th cover in `06 so I doubt they will do a 30th unless the Indiana Jones first three movies come out on blu ray next year then maybe.

It wasnt 500 I'm sure but cant remember exact number. Think it was 100. I like the terminator and all but I only went for it because otherwise I would have been walking around town all day changing my mind about which one I really wanted. Its always cool getting one that came out before Empire existed.

I'm still disappointed they didn't do anything for the Phantom Menace ten year anniversary last year [:(]

They did a random 100 covers from across the 500 films selected. I bought the Breathless cover, which came in at around 125 in the actual list. The Godfather cover was beautiful though, and felt amazing!

10 years isn’t much of a big deal for an anniversary thing…it really has to be 25 or 30

Anyway who wants to be reminded of being colossally disappointed by a SW movie? (see the prequel chapter in Peggs book for a great summation)

It's 30 years old this year.

pity Trek '2' isnt out this summer - Trek 2 coming 30 years after Trek II wouldnt have gone unnoticed im sure (esp if it has Khan in it too)

if the BR sequel gets put into production this year maybe a special BR issue?
