the block PMs bit is in there - we can do it from the Admin panel though. And now done.
I see "Forum Preferences" has been restored.
Can I have the option to switch the PM feature back on please?

sskywatcher -> RE: Spam alert (28/5/2010 11:05:00 AM)

rawlinson -> RE: Spam alert (31/5/2010 8:01:15 PM)

So judging by the link in your post, you're spamming the spam alert thread? [&:]

Edit - That was for the now deleted post, not Beno. [:D]

WesleyLawrence -> RE: Spam alert (9/6/2010 7:16:47 AM)

I'm coming! Let's see what happens

elab49 -> RE: Spam alert (10/6/2010 8:49:17 AM)

I'd just like to say thank you to all the idiots who are specially using this thread for their spam posts - we're finding it very handy to keep the real muppets in one highlighted place.

Ta.

rich -> RE: Spam alert (10/6/2010 2:35:38 PM)

Hi guys, the user "dikayashtuchka" wants me to play at William Hill Casino.... but looks like he already been dealt with.

You might want to look into the hideos Nike trainer ads that have started cropping up everywhere these days, people filling up the reply boards on the main site with rubbish that the similar IGN comment sections have been covered with lately

Overmind -> RE: Spam alert (7/9/2010 5:49:48 AM)

What is happening with those fu****n adds for nike shooes and guccibaggs or whatever?
very very anoying.
They are killing threads.

TheSpleen -> RE: Spam alert (11/9/2010 9:09:51 PM)

Looks like some Spam posts have got on the Kick Ass 2 thread in the news forum if any Mods are free [8|]

elab49 -> RE: Spam alert (11/9/2010 9:24:03 PM)

If people do spot them (and we do get lots of Mod reports), could they remember to report the post rather than the site? A lot of the reports we get are just links to the spam site so we haven't a clue where the post is [:)]

Felix -> RE: Spam alert (11/9/2010 9:24:05 PM)

Thanks, all sorted now.

TheSpleen -> RE: Spam alert (11/9/2010 9:27:09 PM)

Ah, sorry guys will do next time. Thanks for protecting us all! [:D]

elab49 -> RE: Spam alert (11/9/2010 9:38:04 PM)

I didn't mean your post Spleen - you gave the thread. [:)]

And the reports are fine in here. It was just in case anyone happened to notice this thread who was also one of the helpful people who'd used the post report set-up to let us know too.

TheSpleen -> RE: Spam alert (11/9/2010 9:46:28 PM)

Ahh understood ta. [:D]

TheSpleen -> RE: Spam alert (25/9/2010 7:30:46 PM)

More spam in news on the Scream 4 thread.

Captain Black -> RE: Spam alert (25/9/2010 7:33:29 PM)

Thanks.

Bluehawk -> RE: Spam alert (26/9/2010 4:03:43 PM)

Hmm, so much spam in the news now, I think all the reader comments got removed too :/

TheSpleen -> RE: Spam alert (26/9/2010 5:03:42 PM)

Empire online section in the Bobcat Goldthwait thread also a bit too spammy.

Beno -> RE: Spam alert (27/9/2010 1:02:49 PM)

What happened with the recent IbizaGirls thread in News n Hot Topics. It took about 12 hours till it was taken down which encouraged scamps like me to mess about on it and try to get it on to 2 pages .......

............. i felt used.

[:D]

sharkboy -> SPAM ALERT - URGENT MESSAGE TO ALL USERS (28/9/2010 2:31:55 PM)

You may have noticed a lot of spammers advertising links to their shopping sites, mostly (but not always) in the areas of the forum that link to the main Empire site such as Movie News or Film Reviews.  THESE SPAM LINKS CONNECT TO MALWARE AND SHOULD NEVER BE CLICKED, NOT EVEN OUT OF CURIOSITY!

That's probably stating the obvious for anyone with a smidgeon of sense, but if you do see one of these posts please report it using the Moderator Ticket or e-mail the moderators with the name of the poster.  If you've got a few minutes to spare while browsing, feel free to check out the threads in the above areas of the forum to see if any of our spammers have been busy.

Help us to help you enjoy a spam-free forum.

TheSpleen -> RE: SPAM ALERT - URGENT MESSAGE TO ALL USERS (30/9/2010 7:43:00 PM)

Soz my computer is a bit crap it's letting me post but not report spam etc. There's some in 'news' on the Wes Anderson new film thread.

foz -> RE: SPAM ALERT - URGENT MESSAGE TO ALL USERS (2/10/2010 9:16:25 PM)

Does the current PS3 background ad that takes you to the Sony Youtube Channel when you try to post a reply to anything or negotiate to another part of the forum (as it turns a couple of inches of page borders, including your navigation buttons, into a link to their site) count as spam?  Because it's really bloody annoying.

Completely agree, its really fucking annoying. Whenever the PS3 ad is there you cant click on any links at the top of the forum! [:@]

DancingClown -> RE: SPAM ALERT - URGENT MESSAGE TO ALL USERS (4/10/2010 3:57:33 PM)

Quick, jorerc52 is infecting the entire board with his viral herpes!!

sharkboy -> RE: SPAM ALERT - URGENT MESSAGE TO ALL USERS (4/10/2010 4:00:20 PM)

http://www.empireonline.com/forum/tm.asp?m=2873540

sharkboy -> RE: SPAM ALERT - URGENT MESSAGE TO ALL USERS (6/10/2010 10:29:46 AM)

Argh it's doing it again!
Try to click on a topic, it takes you to a PS3 ad.  Try to go elsewhere on the forum, it takes you to a PS3 ad.  At least with the other spammers listed in this thread, you have a choice about whether or not you click on their links... [:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]
