Did I say Ingrid Pitt was in the wonderful, Where Eagles Dare? One , Two, Three,... 'Broadsword calling Danny Boy, come in, Danny Boy?'

Pitt: Ahh, herr Clinto, vood you like a top up?
Clint: Ah yeh darling, and another cold ale would be nice to. (boom!, boom!)
Burton: Lightweight! That's you just finished your first and that's me on my 8th pint of p&v (hic!)

Ho, ho the morning after ear bashing. Wife + kids + hangover = hell on earth. Sounds like a true beerfest of a weekend. What music were you listening to at top volume?

EB goes for a more inventive, drinking mascot to bring back home rather than the traditional traffic cone.

Nasty. I stayed with the cider on Friday and Saturday but mix it and it's a head slicer.

Christ, that's a drinkin party lineup if ever I heard one. I might shove on Back in Black EP while I'm getting my stuff ready tonight for business trip to DJ's Scottish haunt, Fraserburgh. Don't know if you've ever heard Kyuss or Soundgarden's versions of BS's Into the Void but they are both brilliant. I have not listened to Megadeth for many a year but I still have the Rust in Peace album sitting in my collection. I had a go at Hanger 18 on the Guitar Hero while absolutely slaughtered on Bulmers and it was incredibly difficult. As for Fish, my ex was a massive fan of the Scottish nut job. I have a few Marillion albums on vinyl.

I've heard of Kyuss but not heard there music, and love  Soundgarden's version of Black Sabbath's Into the Void, heard it on a Tribuite to Black Sabbath album in a mates house,i think Megadeath where on it to doing Paranoid very apt for Dave Mustaine.I always love a good heavy music DVD to drink to,as you don't need to concentrate on the visuals like with a movie.
Anyway another great beer movie is:
[image]http://img121.imageshack.us/img121/8894/iboughtavampiremotorcyc.jpg[/image]

Starting off with a biker group devil worshiping when the rival bike group let loose and kill all the guys. The evil spirit that the leader was summoning inhabits a damaged bike. A biker called noddy buys it and restores it wondering why it only starts sundown. But then it reveals its true nature when it tries to exact vengance on the gang, and anyone else who gets in its way.hilarity ensues with the former cast of boon try's to capture the rouge demon bike.A classic spoof horror, which you don't see anymore, and with Men Behaving Badly star Neil Morrisey in it too this is just so much fun.P.S there's a talking turd in it too,it really is a beer movie.

I fondly remember watching this one as it was made with nearly all the cast from Boon (Michael Elphick as Van Helsing type character). I believe the talking turd jumped into Morrisey's mouth. He hasn't stopped talking shit ever since.
Your right about Mustaine being paranoid. I couldn't believe his outburst in that recent Metallica movie when James Hetfield and him spoke about his breakup with Metallica. Christ, fancy harboring all those negative feelings for all those years.
You'll love Kyuss as they are heavy as bricks and really trippy too. Welcome to Sky Valley and When the Circus Leaves Town are excellent albums. Josh Homme's guitar work is great.

DAVID GILLESPIE -> RE: The Great Beer Movie (26/5/2010 12:41:29 AM)

Vigilante movies and booze go like Taylor and Burton. That's why I've assembled a few of my favourites of varying quality.

Death Wish 1-3 - These movies are beyond bad taste at times but hey, good taste is not one of Michael Winner's strong points. See the uncut version of part 2 for proof. However when people say vigilante it is Charles Bronson that springs to mind. Quality is dubious at times but worth a watch.
The Exterminator 1 -2 - Robert Ginty flames his way through New York's low lifes when his Nam buddy is paralyzed by some hoods. Ultra violent and surprisingly watchable in a b-movie kind of way.
Dirty Harry and Magnum Force - I know there are many more sequels but the first two are by far the best. Andy Robinson is probably the best psycho in movie history. The American football park scene is still hugely impressive and the groovy soundtrack is tops.
Taxi Driver - Top quality stuff with De Niro's Travis Bickle driven to insanity through a black cocktail of insomnia, loneliness and the cold streets around him. A Scorcese classic.
The Dark Knight - Bruce Wayne has a real bummer in this impeccably bleak and brilliant entry in Chris Nolan's re-imagining of the Batman franchise.
Man on Fire- Denzel Washington tortures and kills the bad guys in a fairly straight forward actioner.
The Horseman - Gritty and incredibly brutal Australian drama with a sickened father annihilating the producers and cast of a porn movie that he deems guilty for the death of his daughter. You'll never look at a bicycle pump in the same way again without wincing.

WALKING TALL 1973 is the one to watch with Joe Don Baker giveing his best performance in this film as legendary Tennessee lawman Buford Pusser.(He was also brilliant in Charley Varrick 1973 where he acted a hitman called Molly.)This film is based on the true story, though how close it is to the truth is a matter of some dispute over the years. It deals with a man that has just givin up pro wrestlng because he is sick and tired of being controlled by someone else. He returns home to Tennessee, and finds the same thing going on,and even though his mother warns him to ignore it,he ends up pulled into it by accident, he finds out the hard way how these people operate. His battle is an uphill one,as first, he is jailed for robbing the local bar, with no n money he acts as his own defense at the trial and wins. Then the local sheriff tries to murder him, but is killed himself. So Pusser stands for and is elected sheriff,so the fight really begins. The most tragic part of this film is the scene that depicts the brutal murder of Pusser's wife Pauline and his near murder (Pusser had his jaw almost blown off and the people who did it were never caught that's a fact). When was the last time you cheered at a movie?well this one will get you like me jumping out of your seat.I saw it many years ago on TV and got so workedf uop that in front of my parents shouted"Kill The Bastards!!"[:(]  Joe Don Baker does a wonderful job playing a simple man in a complicated world who wants only what is just and right. I remember the scene where a corrupt judge tells Pusser that he doesn't know anything about the law. Pusser merely tells him "I know the difference between a poor honest judge and a rich dishonest one".Elizabeth Hartman does a fine job in this film as Pusser's loving wife Pauline. She was a fine actress who had an amazing debut in the classic film A Patch Of Blue.

Ah Battle Beyond The Stars, I remember seeing this on tv when I was about 12 and thinking it was better than Star Wars.  Nothing to do with the delicious Sybil, of course!  Anyway a great fun space actioner on a pretty low budget.

[image]http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/2442/fleshgordon.jpg[/image]Here's what I think is a classic beer movie, though it's not too well known these days. I remember when I was at school is was a classic 'video your parents wouldn't want you to see' movie that most of the cool kids [who obviously had cool parents] had seen.   As you may guess it's basically Flash Gordon but as a really stupid soft porn movie.  Therefore Dal Ardor is Dale Hard On, Ming The Merciless is Wang The Wanker, the peril that threatens earth is a sex ray, the Tree Men are all gay, Wang's aides are the Rape Robots with drills between their legs, and so forth.  The story goes that this was intended as a hard core porn movie, but because some of the special effects ended up being surprisingly good they turned it into a soft porn fiilm [though the odd hardcore shot remains] and gave it a fairly wide release in 1974.  It still looks pretty shoddy and the acting is abysmal, but as long as you have tongue firmly in cheek and preferably a really stupid and childish sense of humour [one that maybe comes to the fore under the influence of alcohol[;)]],  it's hugely entertaining, and climaxes with a great King Kong spoof!  The UK DVD is cut unlike the US one though with the likes of Caligula getting uncut releases I find it bizarre that it's still cut over here.

Darn! I've not seen this and it is a cult classic albeit a rather naughty one. Wang the Wanker is so good it's almost poetry[:D].
Other naughty but funny beer movies would be: -

I remember long ago in the 80's those drunken nights watching that movie, god it's so ham,so bad ,yet so funny. And there are uncut copys of this doing the rounds still, even on DVD now.[;)]
Reminds me of a fellow worker who had a porn version of Snow White, who left it siting out after a nights boozing.Well he went to work that Saturday as normal, and forgot his wife was having a birthday party for there 9 year old and friends. She put on said Video thinking it was a live action remake of Snow White, and left the room with the other mothers to prepare the cake etc.Did'nt those kids get a surprise as the Dwarfs mounted snow white,in various ways[;)][:D].
