Always wondered, looking at the size of ED-209, how they got it up that tower.

It couldn't have been through the staircase...

And why did they give it live ammo in the first place?

Well it wasn't supposed to fill the chairman with bullets. Maybe they thought after that demonstration they could immediately put it on the streets. And they wanted to show off. Then it all went wrong. I blame cockiness.

Plus it's only one measly human being that got blown to pieces.

They do the phone updates in June tho. There have been rumours for a while that they'll introduce a sister phone for the Verizon network in the US tho, I guess that could make an appearance.

Personally I'm expecting a new, well updated operating system for the iPhone, a foray into eBooks, and a tablet type device of course. Wouldn't be surprised for the iPod Touch that was mooted to have a camera built in revealed too. I hope there aren't any major MacBook Pro updates, the one I'm typing on now is only three months old! I guess there's achance that we'll see blu-ray integration too.

Remember as a kid the rumors in the playground that they would be bringing out hoverboards for real?

And there was always that one kid who claimed that they already had one. I hated them.

If the announcement turned out to be Blu-Ray movie compatibility on Macs I'd be happy... but it won't be.


I'm guessing iTablet too, the rumours are everywhere.

We had the rumours about Terminator 3 coming out (back in 1998). One kid claimed it was going to be filmed in a town in Wales, and not one with a steelworks.

Apple have a good track record over the last few years, but the hype being built up around the I-pad feels awfully familiar to all those other companies who've claimed that the were going to reinvent the wheel, only for them to reveal that their big idea was the Sinclair C5 or the Segway. Or the Delorean, which was only useful if you wanted to smuggle cocaine. or if you modded it out so you could travel back in time. The ipod was successful because of word-of-mouth as much as the advertising campaign. telling people that you're essentialy going to reinvent personal computing and/or save the publishing industry, before actually being specific about how you'll do it, seems to be setting themselves up for a fall. I hope that doesn't happen though.

Still, some people will buy anything with an apple logo on it.

Big iPhone was my first thought. I have a feeling it will be magazine and book reading were it really shines. Regardless it looks like a great device for browsing the internet and doing basic computer tasks with (like an iPhone). I just have a feeling it will hit hard in the pocket...

I mean, how heavy is it for starters? Typing away on a touchscreen phone is one thing because they weigh almost nothing but a screen like that would need to be comfortable to hold one handed, unless people find hunching over a desk staring down to be a comfortable working position [&:]
