KnightofZyryab -> Sheffield 'No Limits' International Student Film Festival ! (8/12/2009 12:01:48 AM)

Hello fellow cinephiles !

I'm part of an ambitious team organising the first international UK student film festival in Sheffield called No Limits, which will be jointly collaborated in the city between the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University. Some of you may have heard of it, but the basic premise is simply as the title sells: there will be no limits to what we show, and we will be trying to show as many films, good or bad, as we can over the two days in April. At the end of the festival a judging panel made up of industry professionals will decide on the best films, which will be shown at the best venues. There will be workshops and talks hopefully by some big names we are in the process of contacting, and hopefully we can make it a success worthy of national recognition.

What I wanted to use this thread for along with promotion is to ask whether any of you aspiring film-makers have a film you would like to submit to the festival or know of anyone looking for a bit of promotion with theirs, we're pretty flexible, and you can contribute films either already produced, or in the pipeline. This is our inaugural festival of what we hope will be many more for years to come, so the more the merrier, and there's a very high chance your film will be screened. I thought this would be both a great opportunity to showcase the festival itself through Empire, to offer any other information people want about the event, and just generally attract everyone to come along next year. We are on Facebook and I think the website should be operational soon, so check us out.

On the whole, I hope there are many of you that would like to submit films, if you have any questions PM me, and by all means come along to the festival in 2010 ! [:D]

ooooh which uni do you go to?
i'm part of Film Unit at Sheffield University - you're using our auditorium for some of your showings :D
I keep meaning to get involved with No Limits but meetings are always at inconvenient times (for me, not in general) - i'll probs volunteer with ushering or whatever when it comes around though. it is a really good idea though and i wish you all the best.

I haven't had time this semester but last year I saw TDK in a packed auditorium, was a great atmosphere. I might be going to the film quiz organised by the Unit on monday if you want to make up a superior film quiz team ? I'll facebook you. [:)]

http://www.nolimitsfilmfestival.com/

That's the official website for the festival. If anyone is interested in entering their films, or knows of any film-makers, please PM me, or email us at contact@nolimitsfilmfestival.com.

Surely there are more film-makers on Empire who are interested in taking part ! [:D]
