Amen to that . . .

mighty mick -> Blomkamp (23/10/2009 10:23:18 AM)

After seeing District 9 I say let the man do what he wants. He's earned it.

Mr Grizzly -> Relief (23/10/2009 11:50:35 AM)

Glad to see he's doing what he wants rather than being handled the reins on the latest franchise or being bullied into fast-tracking District 10. Looking forward to seeing whatever he pulls out the bag.

Shaunyboy27 -> Looking forward to it . . . (23/10/2009 2:08:45 PM)

I'll be agreeing with the general consensus here. Blompkamp did a good job on District 9 and I look forward to seeing what else he can pull out the bag that is not District 9 related.

Jenzy -> (23/10/2009 3:00:35 PM)

It's people like this guy that make the movies so exciting. It's great that there are people out there who are focussed on originality and not just remaking any old crap...

guypoole -> Really?... (23/10/2009 3:52:27 PM)

Well, he honestly didn't blow ME away with District 9...

... Isn't the point of lower budget film-making to achieve freedom from studio control, to achieve artistic freedom?... if so, Why was District 9 so generic?

maxthom -> SCI-FI is back (23/10/2009 4:16:45 PM)

and about fucking time to, too many fantasy religious sentiment for one lifetime, too many 'based on' franchises, time for some motherfcuking original concepts

Anduril666 -> (23/10/2009 5:00:12 PM)

Glad to see he's being allowed artistic freedom for his next project, well done to the guy. Nice to see he's staying relatively low budget as well! The guy's an absolute legend. .

nybras -> District 9 (23/10/2009 6:25:35 PM)

Best in Sci-Fi in a long, long time... Look forward to more of his work.

IMac -> ...fooking prawns!!! (24/10/2009 12:55:33 AM)

...very good news.

islwyn09 -> Book Me A Ticket! (24/10/2009 4:49:04 PM)

Just seen District 9! Very different sci-fi,full of humour & depth prospect of sequel! Its a big boost to Boka film-making! Lets have more of it!

donzimm -> Hope its good (25/10/2009 3:22:53 PM)

donzimm -> exited (25/10/2009 3:28:39 PM)

if his next film is anywhere near as exiting or inventive as district 9 it should be well worth looking forward to. also i think blomkamp should be the man to remake robocop. he would make a fantastic job of it. MNU to OCP.
