Grunny -> Glee - US Speed (27/5/2009 4:59:31 PM)

anyone seen Glee?

"From Ryan Murphy, the creator of "Nip/Tuck" and "Popular," comes GLEE, a one-hour musical comedy that follows an optimistic high school teacher as he tries to transform the Glee Club and inspire a group of ragtag performers to make it to the biggest competition of all: Nationals"

The one hour was a pilot and I asume the series is coming in the fall.

I really enjoyed it, some nice comedy, slightly chessy, great singing and I would like to see where Ryan Murphy will take it as a series.

Joedini -> RE: Glee (27/5/2009 7:54:51 PM)

Really enjoyed it!

Thought the version of Journey at the end was amazing [:D] Good group of characters thrown into the mix too

Grunny -> RE: Glee (27/5/2009 8:11:02 PM)

i have the version of the song downloaded. i love it.....

The main girl was in the original spring awakening cast so I knew she would be able to belt a tune out. [:D]

Gazdance -> RE: Glee (29/5/2009 12:35:15 PM)

When is this being shown in the UK and on what channel?  Please be on E4!!

Grunny -> RE: Glee (29/5/2009 1:14:07 PM)

I dont think this will be on UK till next year. the season hasnt even started in the states.
Just download it, the makers wont mind, on itunes USA you can download it for free [:D]
but I think E4 will be a good channel 4 it, but as its fox dosnt that mean it will be on FX?

Gazdance -> RE: Glee (29/5/2009 5:16:44 PM)

Just watched it.  Loved it.

It's so cheesy and fluffy that by rights I should have hated it.  But it's just so...enjoyable.  Looking forward to the series.

Joedini -> RE: Glee (11/9/2009 1:28:08 PM)

Really enjoyed the second episode too! this show is so much fun and all the characters still amuse me.
The 'risque sex song' was genius and wheelchair boy never fails to make a smile. I also kinda love the lead girl even though I feel I shouldn't [:D]

*emz6* -> RE: Glee (11/9/2009 1:55:25 PM)

Lea Michele! Shes amazing, as someone said she is the original Wendla from Spring Awakening. Very talented girl.

I liked the pilot alot, im looking forward to seeing the Kristin Chenoweth cameo in later episodes!

beebs_ -> RE: Glee (11/9/2009 2:22:09 PM)

This is supposed to be very good isn't it?

I haven't got round to looking at it yet. Maybe over the weekend...

*emz6* -> RE: Glee (11/9/2009 2:27:39 PM)

i read a short article by Variety that trashed the next few episodes but im still gonna check them out

mustbebunnies -> RE: Glee (11/9/2009 3:47:21 PM)

[:D]this looks super! altho if it's only just started in the US, i guess we'll be waiting a while..

anything with Journey in wins in my opinion

MI Cruise -> RE: Glee (27/9/2009 11:20:18 AM)

Watched the trailer for this and can't wait for some channel in the UK to show it next year.

Captain Black -> RE: Glee (11/10/2009 5:44:45 PM)

It will be on E4 in the new year, just to follow up on that.

I really, really liked the first ep. It's broad as hell, and the main story arc seems to be over far too quickly (the thing about an underdog story is that they can't become too good too quickly or you're left with nowhere to go for the rest of the series), but it's got a nice acerbic line in humour (mainly from Jane Lynch, who's just terrific) and is just a massive feel good 40-some minutes.

The Mighty -> RE: Glee (12/10/2009 12:27:50 AM)

I agree, I think the first few episodes have been fantastic, especially episode 4 featuring Kristin Chenoweth.

Have a look;

paul_ie86 -> RE: Glee (12/10/2009 12:38:35 AM)

Ryan Murphy has produced two of my favourite shows so I really look forward to this, even though I think that Pretty/Handsome would have been more interesting

beebs_ -> RE: Glee (12/10/2009 9:27:30 AM)

I'm enjoying this show very muchly.

On one level it's got the trite high school crap which isn't too annoying, but as Captain Black says...

quote:'s got a nice acerbic line in humour (mainly from Jane Lynch, who's just terrific)

Good stuff.

Best song so far has been Mercedes solo...

*emz6* -> RE: Glee (12/10/2009 2:58:18 PM)

Ive been a bit disappointed actually by the last few episodes. Its losing my interest slightly for a number of reasons. Firstly i think they are just doing the same storyline each week. Secondly they seem to be moving focus away from the most interesting characters, such as Jane Lynch (who is the funniest thing in the show), the story between the teacher and his crazy wife, and the stuff between the councilor woman who is in love with him. I also think its got slightly too stupid, such as the football teams Single Ladies rendition. It was just to ridiculous i felt up until that point that as silly as some of the musical bits were they were still semi believable but that football bit was a step to far.

Ethanial -> RE: Glee (12/10/2009 3:05:09 PM)

Watched the pilot as I awaited The Simpsons last night and kinda enjoyed it, not perfect, but not a waste of 40 minutes. Probably catch up today, nothing else to do.

Ethanial -> RE: Glee (24/10/2009 11:51:06 PM)

Just did 7 in a row and really like it, it got rather serious in it's plot lines too.
The music is fantastic.

Jeffrey -> RE: Glee (18/11/2009 5:25:43 PM)

The pilot/first episode will be shown on E4 in mid-December, followed by the rest of the series in January.

Jeffrey -> RE: Glee (20/2/2010 4:21:27 PM)

Promo for the second half of the season (begins in April), contains song/performance spoilers:

Ethanial -> RE: Glee (14/4/2010 5:31:20 AM)

Ok, I'll go first. Worst. Episode. Ever.
What a painful bore, everything they successfully set up in Sectionals is thrown to the dogs, they backtrack in a poorly toned manner, the drama is heightened for no reason, reaching parodical levels, the songs dull,t he characters worse, and I'm surprised they didn't just stick "Glee, The World's No.1 Show" at the end of the episode with Ryan Murphy naked on a huge pile of cash, that's the level of smug, poorly judged crap we were shoveled tonight.

tabula rasa -> RE: Glee (21/4/2010 9:11:36 PM)

Just watched the madonna episode. tis good, back to form i think...

Mind you, not sure where these twists in the story are going. But its all harmless glorious technicolor fun!

paul_ie86 -> RE: Glee (20/5/2010 8:18:09 PM)

Any point in resurrecting this?

Ethanial -> RE: Glee (20/5/2010 11:08:33 PM)

Well, I thought this weeks was the best since the hiatus, Whedon, though, needed to kill of Rachel, eugh, she pisses me the frak off.

NPH and Jane Lynch were great together, they're great apart, but together, more is needed.

paul_ie86 -> RE: Glee (27/5/2010 3:52:20 PM)

While not up to last weeks excellent episode, I thought that this one was very good. Even if the club's Bad Romance and Shout It Out Loud were a bit flat, the Pokerface duet and Beth really saved it.

Ethanial -> RE: Glee (27/5/2010 5:24:00 PM)

I read it was using the songs from the gaga person, so I've avoided, one of the elements of popular culture I've so far been completely uninitiated in, sans Leslie Knope's rendition at the top of the recent Parks and Rec season, hope I miss zero important things.

paul_ie86 -> RE: Glee (22/9/2010 8:11:03 PM)

It started last night over in the States.

Rebenectomy -> RE: Glee (23/9/2010 9:24:31 AM)

I thought it was a pretty solid start to the new season, nothing particularly stand out, just setting things up for the rest of the year.

paul_ie86 -> RE: Glee (23/9/2010 11:04:19 AM)

Yeah, same here. I can't decide if answering the internet's comments at the start was good or stupid though.
