Post your comments on this article

GFoley83 -> Ehh... (29/1/2009 9:47:55 AM)

Has Dr. Manhattan got the measles? Ozymandias looks like he's doing long division in his head. I like the Silk Spectre one though...

cunneenm -> SS (29/1/2009 10:21:55 AM)

Silk Spectre = BABE!

Biggus -> (29/1/2009 10:37:37 AM)

Come on Empire, not really stunning or gorgeous are they?

lukeisluke -> only problem with the casting is (29/1/2009 11:28:42 AM)

...Ozymandias, looks less like a ridiculously chisled athlete and more like a...chicken. yes, an actual chicken

Actually....thats entirely accurate [>:]

Im really looking forward to this movie, but when you take these costumes out of context (i.e surrounded by the funky effects of the film) they actually look quite ridiculous

Thats Billy with just the suit on and no blue Dr Manhattan effect, as you can tell by the hands.

Albertine -> *drool* (29/1/2009 12:19:20 PM)

Am I the only one loving theese? And YES Silc Specter is a babe, anyone that can pull that suit of is in my eyes a babe!;)
Anyway love them!
Rorschach and the Comedian is my fav's of alle the characters!

Albertine -> but still.. (29/1/2009 12:20:54 PM)

Nite Owl is a bit too fit in comparison to the book ;-/

DANGEROSS! -> not bad (29/1/2009 12:30:23 PM)

it's ok. only one i'm really impressed with is the comedian. others are distinctly average. i'm still not sure if they're gonna pull it off. i hope i'm wrong because i love the book but i haven't seen anything yet that doesn't tell me that this movie is not going to be disappointing.

christofurr -> Cor... (29/1/2009 12:38:56 PM)

It must take ages to get her into/out of that!

Nicky C -> Stunning? (29/1/2009 1:46:19 PM)

By 'stunning' I assume you mean 'photographed in black and white'. There is a point where fandom just becomes *rse licking.

robbyreindeer -> Is it me.... (29/1/2009 1:58:12 PM)

...or is silk spectre showing a little too much erm.... lip.

robbyreindeer -> Is it me.... (29/1/2009 2:02:37 PM)

bo1 -> Shit.. (29/1/2009 2:06:18 PM)

Are these pictures even finished? The Silk Specter has pants on!

No you're not the only one - some people just think it's 'cool' to be constantly negative about everything.  I find those types of people extraordinarily irritating though tbh.

UGonnaBarkAllDayDog? -> Masterpiece? (29/1/2009 2:54:45 PM)

Not my copy of Empire yesterday. Has anyone noticed that Empire call Watchmen a "Masterpiece"?

Surely thats a step above hype? Methinks one runs the risk of feeling a little ashamed when this turns out to be another Batman and Robin.

KennyM -> RE: Masterpiece? (29/1/2009 4:17:21 PM)

"Another Batman and Robin"
"Ozymandias looks like a chicken"
"When you take these costumes out of context...they actually look ridiculous"

Classic quotes, one and all...

The Silk Spectre is now officialy my favourite character of all time....[sm=love01.gif]

ROTGUT -> SWEEEET....... (29/1/2009 4:41:18 PM)

That final poster looks rather nifty. Should have stuck it on the cover of Empire rather than Gollum. If this film turns out to be anywhere near what the book is - I'll be happy. Even if they tweak the ending - I'll be happy. Even if they use CGI to wipe out Dr. Manhattan's naughty bits - I'll be happy. Stop nitpicking you nitpickers.... ...they said this book couldn't be done as a film.....and now...........brilliance awaits.......................I hope......

Snake-Eyes -> Silk Spectre.... (29/1/2009 5:21:10 PM)

...I'd like to fuck her froggy style.

Drew_231 -> RE: Silk Spectre.... (29/1/2009 5:40:21 PM)

If Marlene Ackerman forgets to shave for just one day, the entire world is going to know

Deliberate, you think? [:)]

Were they referring to Watchmen itself or specifically to the movie?

Watchmen IS a masterpiece.  The movie just should be.

[:D]

No, really, I mean [:D]

Just the rape scene alone (which we know is there in its entirety) will ensure that isn't remotely a concern - and knowing what else is in there makes your statement even more ridiculous/unlikely.  Unless between now and March, WB have a complete collective nervous breakdown and cut the movie to ribbons, of course.

Seriously though, you absolutely MUST return to this forum after the movie's release and tell us what YOU think.

Lemure -> ... (29/1/2009 10:48:08 PM)

Is it only me that thinks this film a complete waste of time? The novel is perfect, and chunks have been removed for the film. All we'll be seeing is what was in the novel, and if they change it, it will be a lesser film. Same with Harry Potter, and many others.

At least films like American Psycho and Fight Club ADD to the source material.

newguy -> More Photos (29/1/2009 11:42:57 PM)

You can see more photos from the Watchmen: Portraits book.

lorcan86 -> Stunning/Ridiculous (30/1/2009 8:53:14 AM)

...depends on your mentality I suppose. Personally I'd like Zach Snyder to get back to making entertaining zombie video-games rather than these mildly irritating homo-erotic comic book based video-games. And I'm gay.

fergiecool -> Dead dog in the alley... (30/1/2009 11:24:09 AM)

What I find interesting is the number of people complaining about the rumoured changes the movie will make to the original source material - especially when the Hobbit is the cover story for this month's Empire.

Are these the same people that complained over and over about the changes Peter Jackson made to his LOTR masterpiece before they'd actually seen it? From what I've seen so far [in terms of stills and the trailer], the movie looks fantastic.

They said it couldn't be filmed, I'm sure someone once told Peter Jackson the same thing. Let's just wait and see...

UGonnaBarkAllDayDog? -> RE: Masterpiece? (30/1/2009 11:53:46 AM)

Must I simply?

My point is that you shouldn't really go round calling something a 'Masterpiece' until you have actually viewed it..

Oh, and just because the book is a materpiece (agreed) doesn't mean the film will be. That you even think about mentioning that in a post is very worrying!

Erm... Dan Brown? Stephen King?

PLUS.. Watchmen the novel is a masterpiece as it blends genres together. One min its a comic, the next a novel, the next a comic within a comic, the next police notes.(etc). How that transfers to Film will be interesting!
