jonson -> RE: JAWS (11/8/2010 3:35:44 PM)

That's a cracking photo Snakeeyes, I would have loved to have been there then.
For anyone's interest, I have just purchased a Bruce tooth, made by Roy Argobast, which was supposed to have been used during Quint's death scene. He made small holes down the centre of the teeth and was supposed to pump blood through them for effect. This didn't work so they used the rubber teeth instead. These teeth didn't get any screen time unfortunately (those teeth are very hard to find) but I am pretty excited about getting my hands on one. The wife and kids arent that impressed [:D]
When I get it I'll post some pics.

Sutty - some interesting points there - not sad or broing at all! I have seen the film hundreds of times but now and again someone will still mention something I may not have seen before.

Snake-Eyes -> RE: JAWS (14/8/2010 7:22:51 PM)

I'm probably not alone when I say this (actually, I don't mind if I am) but I reckon that every fan of this film has at one point or another in their lives, had a toy rubber shark that they've played with in the bath-tub. I had an AWESOME toy Great White that I bought at London Zoo about ten years ago and it was my bath-tub toy until one of my mates brought her little brat six-year-old son over when she was visiting and the kid would not stop crying til I gave up the shark! anyhoo, I aim to snare a new one soon. Bath-time will be fun once again...

DazDaMan -> RE: JAWS (14/8/2010 8:33:53 PM)

Snake, you are certainly not alone! [:D]

I have...... TEN! That I can see, at least. The rest are in the loft. I used to have dozens when I was little, then went thruogh another shark phase a few years back and collected a few more. I've got two of those big, fuck-off Early Learning Centre Great Whites that are TWO FEET long...!

PM me if you want a shark fired over.

Snake-Eyes -> RE: JAWS (15/8/2010 10:08:15 AM)

Watching it again this morning - I just noticed a wee mistake; not sure if this has ever been clocked by anyone else; when Polly is talking about the kids 'Karate-ing' the fences, Brody is typing up a report and just above 'SHARK ATTACK', it says 'CORNER'S OFFICE' as opposed to 'CORONER'S OFFICE'.

Yes. I am that much of a stickler to detail.

The REAL Bozz -> RE: JAWS (15/8/2010 8:58:10 PM)

I got around to watching the two hour making of yesterday. Great stuff.

Just finished watching that forgotten 70's slasher known as Jaws 2. Love the both of them.

Can't believe you gave it away[:D]
Bet when you were in the bath with it you made the Jaws theme tune[:D]

Absolutely. [;)]

krudler -> RE: JAWS (17/8/2010 9:21:09 PM)

Jaws 2 isnt all that bad, gets a bit silly at times but theres still some great scenes in it, 3D is hilariously bad, and The Revenge is just spectacularly bad, a roaring shark! [:D]

DazDaMan -> RE: JAWS (17/8/2010 9:26:55 PM)

I hate to point this out, but with regards to roaring sharks, I'm 99.9% sure that in the first film, before we were treated to the shitty sound makeover, Bruce DID roar! Particularly in the scene where he smashes into the Orca's cabin, as Scheider shoves the scuba tank in his mouth....

I'm in agreement there, but if they are ever on TV, I'll watch them!

BOHEMIANBOB -> RE: JAWS (17/8/2010 11:39:09 PM)

Jaws sequels are like that great relative you have that you don't see that often.
You forget about them,but when they come to visit,it's fantastic.

Agree. Jaws 3D was the first one I saw at the cinema, and I've always loved it. I was shark mad, and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread.

I remember my parents both thinking it was great as well. I've learned since having kids, that you never admit when films are shit.
Not to them at least.
I now know that when I left Clash of the Titans the other week saying "that was great kids!" with a false smile, exactly how my Dad felt when leaving the cinema with me after seeing Jaws 3D. [:D]

Snake-Eyes -> RE: JAWS (18/8/2010 6:46:14 PM)

The sequels? Nah, can't do it to myself. I have nothing but love for JAWS - a film crafted by the Greatest Film Director of All Time. But the follow-ups... I think I've only ever watched 'em once and perhaps in bits n' pieces after that. Poor stuff.

anyway, DEEP BLUE SEA pisses all over the sequels.

That same film director gave us Indy 4 and Hook.[:@]

Love the first Jaws though.Jaws 2 is ok.Never saw Jaws 3D.Saw Jaws 4 which really does give Batman and Robin a run for its money in the worst film of all time stakes.

DazDaMan -> RE: JAWS (18/8/2010 9:06:19 PM)

Shark eating people Vs. Gay superheros.

Snake's right that Deep Blue Sea is better, but I'll always have a soft spot for the Jaws sequals as I would watch them whenever I could growing up.

What's not to like about Jaws 3D's thought propelled shark (if memory serves, one of the final scenes has the shark swimming toward the screen without moving a muscle!)?

DazDaMan -> RE: JAWS (18/8/2010 11:35:39 PM)

Jaws 3D's best moment has to be FitzRoyce's death scene!

As crap as the CGI sharks are in Deep Blue Sea, the animatronic ones are fucking amazing!

jonson -> RE: JAWS (20/8/2010 7:56:05 AM)

Man... much as I love Japanese culture and cinema, they do come out with some kack once in a while don't they?

Chopper -> RE: Jaws (21/8/2010 10:41:44 AM)

jonson -> RE: Jaws (23/8/2010 8:10:37 AM)

That's cool chopper, it's based on the Thai film poster, they have an obssession with putting as much of the film in their posters as possible.
I wonder if they did this before they had trailers?
You need to get it hung on the wall now Chopper instead of precariously balancing it on an ironing board [:D]

Chopper -> RE: Jaws (23/8/2010 7:36:12 PM)

lmao its hung, that was when I first got it home, had to share it. :D

juanvasquez -> RE: Jaws (30/8/2010 11:06:19 PM)

I've just realised, I've probably watched this movie at least once a week for the past 6-8 weeks.

Thanks Sky Movies! [:D]

jonson -> RE: Jaws (31/8/2010 8:30:23 AM)

Me too. [:D] It's been on SKY Maiden Greats and other various SKY movie channels quite a lot this last few months. Due to the serious lack of quality viewing, it has been watched nearly every time. [:)]

musicfanforever0 -> RE: Jaws (22/9/2010 1:42:26 AM)

You must be having a laugh! Deep Blue Sea was utter s**t mate. Jaws is 100 miles better and Spielberg's best film, and also 100 times better than the half baked Jurassic Park. All hype and no substance there.

musicfanforever0 -> RE: Jaws (22/9/2010 1:49:31 AM)

Oh yeah right it was dire {sarcasm} I suppose there's lots of 'dire' books that sell over 20 million copies {before the release of the film}. Fact: The book is a classic and always will be. Jaws should be remade the way it was intended.
