Holy shit, I wish I could see that!

Stewie_Griffin -> RE: Jaws (4/8/2008 11:53:01 PM)

It's going to be shown again in selected cinemas as part of a film season organised by a drinks company. It'll probably be a very sketchy 35mm print from 1975, But it's free to get in. [:D]

It was good Daz, try and make it.

Stewie_Griffin -> RE: Jaws (6/8/2008 12:52:27 AM)

The season starts on the 11th of this month for four weeks. Dates for the Jaws screening varies from cinema to cinema. Just check the website of your local cinema chain. I think the all major ones are taking part.

doubleshiny -> RE: Jaws (21/8/2008 7:44:18 PM)

I'm going to the Jaws exhibition next week. Recently got the original Peter Benchley script and you can see why they brought in Carl Gottlieb!

Oh God yeah, the book is dire and so was the script. Have you read Gottlieb's The Jaws Log?
Enjoy the exhibition.

Chopper -> RE: Jaws (24/8/2008 11:28:47 AM)

The Jaws Log was ace! Bought the hadrback, read it and flogged it on ebay, big mistake.[:(]

Great news for Jaws fans!!
Never seen it on the big screen but can't wait. I'll be missing Leicester Vs Hartlepool for this one [:)]
I think a few other things are planned for the day, including a few of the items from the recent Jaws exhibition on show.

ElephantBoy -> RE: Jaws (4/9/2008 1:25:28 PM)

If I'm free that day then I'm going for sure Liverpool isn't too far from me.

The cast was incredible. My fav was Dreyfuss  I don't think the sequels do the original justice to be honest, but they still keep me out of the water!

I agree with you wholeheartedly, still gives me nightmares...

However for me Jaws will forever be one of the finest films ever made. I love the fact that it feels like two movies, always thought that since I was young, the first half with harrowing attacks kept me behind the couch... but when the boys set sail it's a pure adrenaline rush... seeing Brody, Quint & Hooper at loggerheads with each other before they have the truly epic drinking/scar comparison/Indianapolis scene is the stuff of legends...

jonson -> RE: Jaws (29/9/2008 9:14:21 AM)

So I finally got to see it on the big screen - and wow was it good. I must have seen it 50 times but this was brilliant. About 180-odd made it into the cinema - a real 70's fleapit, sorry, scratch that - it had "character", a cinema unlike most multiplexes for it had an atmosphere.
The crowd loved it, there were quite a few people there who hadn't seen it at all (including a 9 year old lad sitting next to me who jumped out of his seat at all the correct parts, laughed along and thoroughly enhoyed himself)
I drove up to Liverpool on my own, met some fellow Jaws fans in the pub, watched the film then went back to the pub. [:D]
A great day.

Here's a few piccies I took.
2 of the queue outside and 1 just as the film started. [:)]

Timon -> RE: Jaws (1/3/2009 4:18:39 PM)

Awesome.

Did 'The Shark Is Still Working' ever get a DVD release?

EDIT: I've found the DVD artwork but no way to buy it? Ideas?

Fans of Jaws, I need your help. Where's the best place to get a JAWS t-shirt cheaply? Something like this...
