ry_naylor -> "The name's Bourne, James Bourne" (18/10/2008 6:02:00 PM)

They're not in the process of writing the fourth Bourne, it's been made and is under the guise of Quantum of Solace. I'm all for modernising Bond, but they've taken it too far and cribbed all the action sequences from the latter Bournes in the process. They’ve tried to tick every box with an action sequence on road, water, in the air…the list goes on. Impressive as they are, they just don’t feel very Bond. The oil-slicked nod to Goldfinger was a nice touch, but all Bond-isms are sadly lacking. And what’s with the Minority Report computers at MI6? This is a solid 3-star film, nothing more. Oh, and was there a Basic Instinct moment in the hotel when the would-be dictator rapes the waitress? That’s one for the DVD!
