It's sort of the opposite to Tarantino, who seems to have this innate need to be the "Rock Star Movie Director", whereas the Wachowskis are more like "we...uh...made a movie..." and don't really give a fuck if people know who they are or not. They weren't even mentioned on the official Speed Racer site for months - under the "cast and crew bios" section, it only went as high as "Producer - Joel Silver". And they honestly couldn't care less.
For me, I get the feeling the Brothers really just do it coz they love to do it, whereas some other directors (Quentin, I'm lookin' at you! [:D]) seem to only make (and re-make...) their movies in order to discover new and exciting ways to suck their own dicks. I also think that's why the Brothers' movies are more out there...they're just having fun [:D]
