We had a great start this year!!!!!!![:D]

I predict that we will advance at least until the quarter-finals of the Uefa Cup.And in premier league 3 or 4 place.Next year the dream would come true:Everton to the Champions Leaque[:)]

PS I also predict two victories against ...you know who...[;)]

Should IQ tests become part of the Empire Sign Up Procedure?

I don't think this is such a mad post.  After all, Everton was the last team to break into the big 4 monopoly and qualify for the Champions League.  Arteta looks to be one of the best midfielders around if / when Yakubu joins they'll have a good striking partnership between him and Johnson.

I don't think that Everton will be able to do the double over Liverpool, but I've got a lot of respect for Moyes and could see them making a run in the UEFA and troubling 4th spot as I think this might be fought over by 3 or 4 teams down to the last couple of games.

If it was Movie Musings and Off Topic would become dead overnight.

As for this place it would still be alright although contributions to the Liverpool and United threads would reduce considerably. [;)]

IF Everton sign the Yak but Middlesboro seem to be sticking to their guns over rejecting the 10 Million bid even if they get him top 4 is too much to ask. top 6 maybe.

Everton to do the double over Liverpool?

I think they have a chance of winning one but not both games.

Everton to the quarterfinals of the UEFA cup?

Well I'd hope so, actually I hope they can win it.

I'm still going to put doing the double over Liverpool and finishing 4th down to the ramblings of a mad man though. [:D]

It's a grand old team to play for,
It's a grand old team to support,
And if you know your history,
It's enough to make your heart go,
WOAH-OH-OH-OH!

We don't care what the Red shites say,
What the heck do we care,
Cause we only know that there's going to be a show,
When the Everton boys are there

I'll agree with you with the double over Liverpool.  Actually I think Everton will do well to come away with 1 point from the two games.

But I can see the difference between 4th and 6th this season (hopefully) being relatively small.  I honestly do think that Arsenal will be off the pace and this will provide opportunities for the likes of Tottingham, Everton and Newcastle.  I'm putting my money on Big Sam to take 4th spot, but I'm not writing the chances of Everton off yet.

Ah well thats where we differ then.

I think Arsenal will be 3rd with Tottenham Newcastle and Man City pushing for 5th.

Everton if they sign the Yak and the lad from Porto would look to push these three for 5th but I don't think any of them will break the top 4.

Can you please keep your petty argument regarding heritage and TV shows away from this forum.

You need you have your own very special sporting ones or simply start new ones to play in here.

Thanks

Kami89 -> RE: Everton (13/8/2007 2:31:03 PM)

Meooww

Anywho, in all seriousness now I expect Tottenham, Newcastle, Man City, Portsmouth and Aston Villa to put up a much stronger effort this season, and so battling out for the UEFA Cup spot to be much more of a challenge this year, and if you're being realistic you can forget about a Champions League spot.

The Janitor -> RE: Everton (13/8/2007 3:57:05 PM)

Putting aside my Liverpool bias for one second I think Moyes as done a brilliant job at Goodison considering the state they where in after Walter Smith left. Getting into the Champions League spot (an achievement he never really got much credit for) and unluckily missing out on the group stage due in part to some shocking referring on Pierluigi Colina's part. Also they haven't been able to sign the type of players available to the likes of Spurs and Newcastle.
That said they won't make the Champions League this season and as for beating Liverpool twice[sm=happy07.gif] (I think my bias may have kicked back in)

Carlito Brigante -> RE: Everton (13/8/2007 9:43:43 PM)

And not forget that if it wasn't for Heysel Everton history and the English football history would be different today...
