Gimli The Dwarf -> The Shield - UK Speed (30/6/2007 6:05:00 AM)

I've just finished watching the series 6 opener. What a great show this is, the best cop show I've ever seen. Even when the characters are just talking to one another it gets my heart pounding.

Great to see Forest Whitaker back and it looks like there'll be even more confrontations between him and Vic then last year.

Peppermint -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (30/6/2007 11:36:06 AM)

It seems I made a mistake so carry on as normal [:D]

swan -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (30/6/2007 3:37:56 PM)

ive missed like 3 seasons but i'm still gonna try and watch this season.

Zaphod121 -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (30/6/2007 3:53:47 PM)

I've only seen the first 3 seasons, so I'm not gonna watch this, don't wont to spoil it for myself.

jediwarrior -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (1/7/2007 3:06:12 PM)

Great first episode. I heard this is the final season. I hope not

Nope. Season 6 is ten episodes long and then is concluded with a seventh season which is 13 episodes I think. They're filming those right now and they'll air in the US sometime in Winter of this year.

Gimli The Dwarf -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (8/7/2007 5:58:23 AM)

That second episode was fantastic. Chiklis really is amazing. Watch his face in that final scene with Forest Whitaker, and how he reacts to what Whitaker is saying. Just brilliant.

chrismart83 -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (8/7/2007 2:38:41 PM)

great episode.
im going to be sad after the final series, but cant wait to see how they tie the show up, really enjoying series 6 so far.

jediwarrior -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (10/7/2007 2:32:03 PM)

Another fab episode. So glad when Whitaker character got caught out and had to confess. I was punching the air with delight.

I wonder if Shane will get found out in the end that he killed Lem, and what will Vic do if he does find out the truth

24Dan -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (10/7/2007 7:03:35 PM)

I just bought the first season on dvd and i was pleasently surprised. Its an amzing show.

***SPOILERS***

I'm sure he will find out, and I have no idea what will happen. Based on tonight's episode, probably something unpleasant. Vic has taken things too far in the past, but torturing Guardo like that must be one of his worst acts. One of the most brutal scsnes I recall seeing on the show.

chrismart83 -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (14/7/2007 11:47:00 AM)

***SPOILERS FOR LAST NIGHT EPISODE*****

Great episode last night, the torture scene with Guardo was very brutal.It looked at times last night that Shane was close to confessing.

Tigerlova -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (15/7/2007 11:39:30 AM)

Was it just me or did anyone else think that Shane response to the killing - "we just killed someone" seem a little odd, he's been around when it's happened before

I don't think it was that odd really. Yes, he's been involved in killinng people before, but this time the man killed was accused of a crime Shane had himself commited. The fact that Vic was going so far against an innocent (for this crime anyway) man made it more personal. As he said, they were now clear for the first time in ages, and here they were torturting a man, and then they had a body to dispose of, just one more crime the Strike Team have been involved in that could come back to haunt them. You could also tell he was bothered by the fact that Guardo was going to have a son.

jediwarrior -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (16/7/2007 9:28:41 AM)

Another great episode. Poor Shane I thought he was going to breakdown and confess it all to Vic.

I am sure Vic is going to find out somehow in the future

this may be my terrible memory but wasn't Shane stood by as Vic killed terry and I don't remember him as having commited a crime or having done anything particularly bad

stuartbannerman -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (17/7/2007 2:20:36 PM)

If i recall the terry killing was BAMM!!!! very fast.
Whereas Guardo was tortured.  That had more of an effect on Shane.
Its a great season guys. ive seen all 10 episodes but dont worry. Im very careful with avoiding spoilers of any kind

furrybastard -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (17/7/2007 5:04:24 PM)

The thing about Terry was that he was a rat, a careerist who was trying to put Vic and his team away despite the fact that they had the highest crime stats and families of their own. That's how Vic and Shane justify it to themselves anyway.

Zebra 3 -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (17/7/2007 10:57:53 PM)

Season 6 is airing in Canada on CH, Tues. at 10pm.

Yep, they were both involved in killing terry but like Furry said, they justifid it by the fact that Terry was going to help put them away. Even so, Shane did feel guilty during that first year of the show, Vic often had to talk sense into him. This time it's even more personal though, as Shane was watching a man get tortured and killed all the while knowing that he hasn't done anything wrong.

chrismart83 -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (23/7/2007 11:25:38 PM)

Is it true, there is going to be one last series after this one?

furrybastard -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (23/7/2007 11:54:41 PM)

There's a 13 episode 7th season, yes. Or you could look at it as an extra-length sixth season.

ok, thanks for the info, it will be a shame when it finish's.

Gimli The Dwarf -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (4/8/2007 6:38:32 AM)

That final scene bwtween Vic and Shane was just brilliant! I really can't see a pleasant outcome from all of this.

chrismart83 -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (4/8/2007 3:45:11 PM)

i got a phone call just a vic and shane had there talk...arghh.
i would have usually ignored the phone but answered as it was quite late. il have to try download the episode now.

I agree.

jediwarrior -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (5/8/2007 7:17:59 PM)

Now Vic knows about Shane, I do wonder where the story will go. Surely Shane can't comeback to work for the strike team with Vic there?

Also will Vic stay on the Strike Team after talking to that guy and asking him to have a word after he kept certain info about the guys dead daughter away from the press

jediwarrior -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (28/8/2007 2:58:38 PM)

Only one more episode to go this series [:(]

It's been a good one. I love the ending this week that Vic has now seen the mobile pic of Aceveda being force to give that robber a blowjob. [:D] I'd forgotten all about that happening to him.

Also I wonder if Shane and Vic will work together again now that Shane told the woman about the amenia (sp) train job Vic did. You could see Shane suddenly worry that he had said far too much

Gimli The Dwarf -> RE: The Shield series 6 - UK speed (28/8/2007 10:28:15 PM)

I like the fact it's linking back to earlier seasons, such as that photo of Aceveda, and now it looks like Vic's gonna get in trouble for the money train robbery. I'm not sure what Shane is going to do here. I can't see him woerking with Vic again but I don't think he wants to see him killed, which is obviously what the Armenian woman wants to do.

Nice to see Franka Potente appear in something worthwhile after Bourne!

So that's who the Armenian lady is. I thought I'd seen her before
