Shocking that there is not already a thread, for the band that re-invented guitar music in the 90's! If you don't know the band,do yourself a favour and go out and buy the album Loveless.

the sangypange -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (28/6/2007 12:34:41 PM)

Not the easiest band to get your head around at first but give that album(Loveless) a chance and you'll will love it

swan -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (28/6/2007 3:30:11 PM)

there was a thread but like a year ago.yeah loveless is wicked.

ichi -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (28/6/2007 4:44:46 PM)

Almost everyonne i've played Loveless to over the years just don't seem to be able to get into.
I love it though.

pete c -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (28/6/2007 6:31:38 PM)

Loveless is stunning!!

tommyjarvis -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (28/6/2007 7:16:47 PM)

That film was pretty shit. Not nearly enough gore in it.

Oh wait. Are we talking about the Good Charlotte song?

jonny unitus -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (30/6/2007 3:12:02 PM)

Apparently Kevin Shields has stated that MBV will 100% make a new album. I presume by the time it's ready they will actually be able to beam it straight into our brains.

Evil_Bob -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (2/7/2007 3:39:54 PM)

My!!! Bloody Brilliant.

TEE HEEE

trussedfund -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (3/7/2007 2:22:50 PM)

I have an entire section in my CD collection for bands that sound like MBV.

Loveless is just about my favourite album.

Asobi Seksu have just had their first album released in the UK - if you like MBV you can't go wrong with it!

jonny unitus -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (4/7/2007 1:19:37 AM)

Good call! Citrus is a great album! Just wondering,since the few people who are posting on this thread obviously have good taste in music[:)] what are you folks listning to at the moment?

I saw Asobi Seksu last month in Brighton, they were really good live.  They supported Dean Wareham & Britta Phillips - who did a couple of Galaxie 500 tracks - Strange in particular was awesome, it was really weird to be in the same room as the mythical Dean Wareham.

I have just bought their new album which is really good, I am also listening to Lessons in Crime by Tokyo Police Club and Wincing the night away by the shins.

I think it is sometimes good to take my attention away from 90's shoegazing bands (which tend to take up a lot of my attention).

Mikey C -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (4/7/2007 7:35:08 PM)

I don't get Loveless at all [X(]

The last few days i've been digging some stuf by Mazzy Star, Kerbdog, P.I.L., My Morning Jacket, Aerogramme and some Jimmy Cliff.

Boring Prophet -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (12/8/2007 10:28:57 AM)

Hmmm. My friend is a cousin of Kevin Shields and met him last week at a family reunion thing. He was told MBV'd be touring next year, and they're definitely hitting Dublin on it, so I just cannot miss that gig.

jonny unitus -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (14/8/2007 2:49:25 PM)

If that turns out to be the case Prophet, thats some pretty damn exciting news!!!!!!

ichi -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (15/8/2007 5:35:52 PM)

If they come to Scotland i'm really going to have to get a ticket any way possible.

Bulletproof_Monk -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (20/11/2007 11:31:38 AM)

The reunion tour is on!

Got my ticket for the Roundhouse in Camden, can't wait!

fairly sure they are playing glasgow...

Lydia_H -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (21/11/2007 4:11:48 AM)

I haven't listened to all their music yet, but my favourite album so far has been 'Isn't Everything'. I like Loveless as well

Now i just need to find someone to take with me.

jonny unitus -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (29/11/2007 3:08:35 PM)

Got my ticket sorted for Manchester, it's gonna be a long wait till June!

Belly T Jones -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (30/11/2007 2:50:55 PM)

There was this news earlier this month about a 'new' MBV album in the works, which is all rather intriguing:

yeahbabyimeanTurk -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (22/2/2008 6:46:53 PM)

I heard rumours that they're playing Electric Picnic in September....I sure hope they're true. I love "Loveless" and "Isn't Anything" so much....and "You Made Me Realise" kicks ass

furrybastard -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (22/2/2008 6:52:06 PM)

Yup, they've been confirmed for EP. Oxegen have R.E.M., Kings of Leon and Rage Against The Machine though, a pretty formidable lineup of headline acts, it must be said.

Indio -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (23/2/2008 8:36:17 AM)

They;re also headlining the first night of Bestival in September.

Amazon has a 2 CD release of Loveless, released on June 23rd. Could be that! :)

moontheloon -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (10/6/2008 10:29:39 AM)

Shields has said there will be new material this year, whether that will happen this year or not who knows, as long as it's good when it gets to us[:D]. What is annoying is a while ago a 5cd boxset of the albums, B sides, the EP's and rarities was announced for release, then that seemed to be shelved and these new remastered versions of the albums were announced and are coming out. I'm pleased they are as a remastered version of Isn't anything and Loveless would be sublime, but I would love for the B sides, rarities and EP collection to see the light of day sometime soon. I did hear speak of a straightforward EP collection... I guess we'll have to wait.[&o]

horribleives -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (8/11/2012 9:29:21 PM)

Just read an interview with Shields in NME in which he claims the new album's virtually finished and should be out in December, followed by an EP and tour in the new year.
I don't believe him but we can always dream.

paul.mccluskey -> RE: My Bloody Valentine (8/11/2012 9:42:55 PM)

I'll believe it when I have the record in my hands.
