ORIGINAL: jcthefirst Anyone any experience with sound bars? What the 'virtual surround sound' like? Thinking of getting rid of my current system, mostly cause I can't be arsed with all the wires, and getting a Philips CSS2123/05. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I have a Samsung thing-a-majig soundbar that, like most Samsung products, looks gorgeous (I can't stand on that side of the room or I get self-conscious) but the performance is sometimes a bit off. The main reason is that it sometimes drops dialogue levels when there's a lot of music/background noise in the film - this only happens on 'cinema' mode though and I am sure there's a way to adjust it but I would feel hypocritical pointing out its flaws when it looks so much better than me. To be honest, that issue aside, I love it; it elevates anything we watch to a real cinematic experience, it barely takes up any space and though its not perfect surround sound, it does a very good job replicating it. Also, did I mention it looks like the Scarlett Johansen of sound equipment?
