curtain twitcher -> L.A. Noire (14/4/2007 2:37:42 AM)

Has anyone seen the trailer? Looks excellent! It is basically the L.A. Confidential game. It will be an open ended game where you are a cop investigating a series of grisly murders in perfectly recreated post war L.A. in the late 1940's and will combine all the themes of the Noir genre like corruption, jazz and drugs. It will be out next year and is being developed by a Rockstar branch in Australia called Team Bondi or something like that. Do you all think it will be good?

Trained Filmsassin -> RE: L.A. Noire (1/2/2009 7:26:54 AM)

Let me just say this game looks astonishing, and it's apparantley gonna be the most expensive video game yet. Where do Rockstar keep getting their ideas from?!!

They already outdid themselves on Grand Theft Auto IV.

There were some claims that this will be a PS3 exlcusive, but it may be also coming to the 360 aswell now. Here are some reasons...

1: There were some claims that this game could be too powerful for the 360. Bullshit! This was before the elite came out, and surley if the xbox can take GTA 4 up it's backside, then surely this motherfucker can join in too...

2: How come Sony aren't wailing from the rooftop about this being one of their exclusives?

3: Apparantley Sony dropped the project

4: Apparantley the head of Team Bondi and Sony hate eachother or something?

5: A Rockstar spokesman implied this would be released on all platforms?

6: Rockstar claimed that after this game all of their releases would be PS3 exclusive?

7: And surely if it's such a big game why wouldn't it be multi platform?

Now this is just some points i've collected from numerous articles i've read on the internet. Could be wrong. We'll see. [:)]

Pretty sweet article about this at Edge:

KnightofZyryab -> RE: L.A. Noire (15/4/2010 8:20:00 AM)

Wow, I'll definitely be watching this one closely. On IGN they've got it posted as a future 360 game.

kata -> RE: L.A. Noire (15/4/2010 8:57:08 AM)

Yeah i think it got confirmed as multi-plat.

Animation is amazing.

rich -> RE: L.A. Noire (11/11/2010 7:15:12 PM)

Looks nice. The animation is good, although their engine is looking a little dated. Still, has to be worth a go.

indysgill -> RE: L.A. Noire (11/11/2010 7:31:06 PM)

Im sold on it.

Even more so if there is a guy in it that talks like a proper old movie gangstar.

'Ya got nothing on me coppa, see, nyaah!' [:D]

Looks like Rockstar are really branching out, applying the GTA formula to different parts of American History. After Red Dead, Im very interested in this title.

That's clearly a major step.  A game changer.

JIm R -> RE: L.A. Noire (21/1/2011 11:40:22 AM)

Looks awesome from the articles I've read so far, a real 'must buy' about it all.

Strangely, the main reason I'm looking forward to this is that it's a different style of game and not just 'GTA set in the 40s' - the whole crime solving/investigation element of it sounds amazing as opposed to the usual sort of missions that make up GTA/RDR. This (along with Portal 2) is probably my most anticipated game of the year at this point, can't wait.

CORLEONE -> RE: L.A. Noire (21/1/2011 11:57:16 PM)

If I could only play one game this year, it'd be this.

New trailer.

Sexual Harassment Panda -> RE: L.A. Noire (24/1/2011 7:42:15 PM)

I'm still not convinced, I think it'll suffer the same fate as Red Dead Redemption, new, different and entertaining at first, but soon becomes tiresome.

I'll give it a go though, as it's Rockstar, but I'd much rather they made GTA V.

Meh.  Tex Murphy did all this twenty years ago.

Was just about to put that video up myself.

Looking good so far......watching this one. [:)]

themightyhutch -> RE: L.A. Noire (9/2/2011 9:05:15 PM)

That facial technology is incredible. Colour me excited.

rich -> RE: L.A. Noire (9/2/2011 9:37:51 PM)

Looks great, but a lot of familiar elements there including the driving radar, and the shooting/melee fighting style straight - even the walking animation once actual gameplay bits pop up - from their last two games. Hope theres more to it than that and that the crime solving doesnt get repetitive.

Your Funny Uncle -> RE: L.A. Noire (9/2/2011 10:20:13 PM)

It's Rockstar so, well, I'm in. They can't make another RDR style error....

From_Hell -> RE: L.A. Noire (10/2/2011 8:34:39 AM)

I enjoyed GTA and RDR, but the gameplay did get quite repetitive after a while. L.A. Noire has piqued my interest but I hope once the appeal of the facial animation has worn off, the game offers a bit more variety than 'go to person X, get directed to Location Y, travel to Location Y on the opposite side of the map, kill everyone there' rinse and repeat... The crime solving element sounds good though....
