Well, the trailer quite clearly stated the title as 'Live Free Or Die Hard' on the link provided. In fact, it said it twice just to make sure it was entirely clear that the film definitely isn't called Die Hard 4.0, in case any magazine websites somehow became confused. God forbid. Anyway, if nothing else at least LF0DH is different from the norm (even if it's rather odd) wheras DH4.0 is just blandness beyond compare- which, incidentally, is about as much as we can expect from the movie judging by what we've seen so far. Altogether now: "It's not Die Hard!!! It's not Die Hard!!!"

Hughezy -> (16/2/2007 6:42:10 PM)

when you think about it, Die Hard itself is a pretty smelly title.

But Die Hard 4.0 is better than LFODH

Bubba76 -> RE: Die Hard 4 Has A New Title! (16/2/2007 8:33:00 PM)

"the Capitol Building is reduced to smithereens" ???? Did I miss something? A helicopter blew up and Bruce shot a gas cannister... I saw no building reduced to smithereens! ????

samneill -> Die Hard 4.0 trailer... (16/2/2007 8:39:40 PM)

The link you have in the article does indeed go to the Live Free or Die Hard trailer but if you are after the new Die Hard 4.0 trailer please check my myspace page for it (www.myspace.com/david_ridehalgh) then click on the Die Hard blog entry and you will be able to link to it from there. Thanks x

ednygma -> God, i hope they dont change the title. (16/2/2007 10:32:47 PM)

Live Free Or Die Hard is even more cheesily awesome than all the other cheesily awesome titles in this fanchise. Die Hard 4.0 is some bland, bland shit.

Ethanial -> (16/2/2007 11:40:06 PM)

Sigh, it's not Die Hard in this one, look at that trailer, blowing up a helicopter will show his position, the Die Hards worked with McClane worried from being caught, and rying to stealthy commit a plan, that never works completely, this looks like all action shit. I want good McClane, or i'm grabbing my pitchfork and hunting down Wiseman.

jbar7406 -> (17/2/2007 4:09:55 AM)

'Live free or die' is the most famous of the state mottos in America (its New Hampshire's); 'Live Free or Die Hard' makes perfect sense in the American context and incidentally, '4.0' is completely uninspired.

SirTiger -> Old Trailer (17/2/2007 12:10:04 PM)

Isn't this the old trailer that's been out for ages?!

Mikkel Drewsen -> The right link (17/2/2007 1:26:04 PM)

Hi.. I think you posted an old link. This one works better.

Hamish -> RE: The right link (17/2/2007 6:54:23 PM)

Ah c'mon how wrong can you be! Surely there isn't anyone truly relieved at a title change from the cheesy, inventive "Live Free Or Die Hard" to the accursed "4.0" a figure away from the ultimate in bland sequel titling, which is perhaps even worse. 4.0 is appropriate considering the plot? the .0 tag is an extremely old hat way of suggesting new tech. I seem to remember it getting ridiculed when originally anounced.

Then again it isn't worth getting excited about the title, the film has very little chance of being acceptable let alone great.

dontcallmeshirley -> (17/2/2007 7:54:23 PM)

I was happiest when it was called Die Hard 4: Die Hardest, that would so easily have been the best film title in a long long time.

sonofliberty1 -> Rubbish FX (18/2/2007 2:48:24 AM)

If you take the link from "Mikkel Drewsen" and pause the trailer near the end - at the point when the guy is jumping from the helicopter (just as the police car is hitting it) - you can see how 'un-finished' (or just how plain rubbish) the effects are. It seems that the post production's been done on a cheap video editing suite or something. Also, in the Capitol Building demolition, it seems that the building's either a miniature model or composed of some rubbish CGI. Unless they enhance/change the effects (which this film seems to rely upon) my hopes for Die Hard 4.0 are not high! What a shame.

barnaby jones -> RE: Rubbish FX (18/2/2007 12:15:10 PM)

I'm really looking forward to this one. The title change is a mistake though, come on Die hard 2: DIE HARDER, Die Hard WITH A VENGENCE ! Pure cheesey goodness, LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD is the perfect title.

Crow -> WHAT HAVE THEY DONE!!!!!!!! (19/2/2007 12:45:17 AM)

I can only hope the film is better, but from the look of the trailer this doesn't look like Die Hard at all. It looks like some 10 a penny summer action flick.

I can only pray those redicolous stunts are the only ones in the movie!!

keyzersaulsie -> Live Free or Die Hard... (19/2/2007 9:22:43 AM)

Is it me or does the website and trailer on the link still say "Live Free or Die Hard"?

The Casino Royale trailer didn't look like a Bond film at all and that was not only the best Bond in decades (you 'urd). Not only did it bring new ideas to a pretty stale character, it then dove tailed into an incredibly traditional Bond movie. Give 'em what they want but not how they expect it.

There isn't a film made that couldn't be improved by the addition of Bruce Willis as John McClane...  North, Striking Distance and Colour of Night leap to mind.
