Your Guide To The Greek Gods
Artemis

The Romans called her: Diana

Not to be confused with: Kid's book character Artemis Fowl, or Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artemis Pyle

Rank: Goddess of Hunting, The Moon and twin sister of Apollo

Played by: Not in Percy Jackson; Nathalie Cox (Clash)

Like Athena, she was known as a virgin goddess (these goddesses didn't get out as much as their male contemporaries), but in Artemis' case, the resulting frustration led to several instances of transforming people into animals / killing them outright when they failed to keep it in their pants, or otherwise meet her standards. Hence Callisto was turned into a bear, Actaeon into a stag and the Meleagrids into guinea fowl. Actually, that last one was at their own request. Takes all sorts, eh?
