Your Guide To The Greek Gods
Hermes
The Romans called him: Mercury

Not to be confused with: Any metallic elements, a scarf shop

Rank: God of trade, profit, commerce and theft, shepherds and cowherds, travellers and boundaries, orators, wit, poets, literature, athletics, weights and measures, invention, and cunning; messenger of the gods.

Played by: Dylan Neal (Percy); not listed in Clash
Hermes was something of a jack-of-all-trades, god-wise, bringing messages to humanity from the gods and ushering souls to the underworld and generally dealing with all sorts of transactions. He invented the lyre on the day that he was born, and by that evening had already stolen Apollo's prize cattle, rather cementing his reputation as a god of thieves (not to be confused with Kevin Costner). While, in legend, he helped Perseus (Sam Worthington) in his fight against the gorgon Medusa, in the upcoming Clash of the Titans film that role appears to be taken by Apollo - which is a bummer given that Hermes was one of the nicer gods, who hardly ever transformed anyone into anything out of vengeance. Guess nice guys really do finish last.
