X-Men: Days Of Future Past - Blink

Played by: Fan Bingbing

Clarice “Blink” Ferguson has a complicated backstory, in that there are two versions of her in different Marvel timelines. In one, nightmarish timeline called the Age of Apocalypse, she was raised by Wolverine's ol' sparring partner Sabretooth (of all people) and has a relatively firm grip on her powers. In the other, main timeline, she’s traumatised, a little flaky and prone to accidentally shredding things that she tries to teleport. Montgomery Scott, in other words, she ain’t.

Blink’s powers centre on teleportation: she can move both herself and large groups of people or objects. Again, that explains how she might have survived so far in the world of the Sentinels (maybe she shredded the distardly robots), and possibly also how the future X-Men got to an inhospitable, mountainous-looking temple. In the comics she has lilac skin, purple hair, pointed ears and solid green eyes to go with those diamond birthmarks on her face. They’ve toned it down onscreen for some reason; can’t imagine why.

One of China’s bigger actresses, Fan Bingbing should help the film in the increasingly important Chinese market. This isn’t even her first time in a Marvel movie; she also played Dr Wu’s assistant Wu Jiaqi in Iron Man 3. So perhaps we should expect her to appear in a few scenes of the international cut, with more screentime for the Chinese market.

1 The Chinese Market
@Helenohara The above article speculates Blink getting additional screen time in an International cut for increased success in the Chinese market....... but can Days Of Future Past be shown in China????? I'm sure I read, not too long ago, an article stating that the Chinese government have banned all films involving time travel because they do not want to encourage their people to re-write their own history. I think they'd be hard pressed to convince the Chinese censors that Logan's journey is not time travel thus causing the film to be banned. More

@Helen OHara Supposedly Ink is also going to appear, which timeline is anyones guess, seems one of the strangest mutants to be introduced but hey the more the merrier in my opinion More

Warpath can definitely fly - it's in X-Force and I think Messiah Complex as well. Some writers just dislike using the power because it seems a bit much (with good reason) so it's been left to one side. I agree he probably won't fly onscreen. And Sunspot's NEAR invulnerable, as I said. You just forget he is because people keep reminding him (like, ALL the time) that he can be hurt. We're looking forward to seeing Quicksilver too. Wonder if he'll be the final newcomer? More

Yeah, I don't recall Warpath ever flying, I guess it was a limited run, and I'm guessing he won't fly in the film. I'm actually looking forward to seeing these Lesser known X-men get some screen time even if it is limited, what the guess that some of them may appear in the upcoming X-Force film. Fingers crossed this isn't the last we've seen of Bishop he's one of the greats. Also where was QuickSilver in the trailer...Overall Cannot wait for this, only thing that I'm unsure about is the apparent lack of 1970's X-men I mean are they going to explain where Banshee, Havok, Emma Frost and co. have gone or just completely forget them ... During X-Force 102-115 Warpath could fly but he has not used that power in a while. As for Sunspot he is almost invulnerable, both he and several other people commented on this when he was injured during a fight with a bad guy. More
