The Wonderful World Of Tim Burton
Tim Burton's style is instantly recognisable, as demonstrated in this week's Alice in Wonderland pics. We look back over his history to see how it developed, in the man's own words.

The Wonderful World Of Tim Burton | Corpse Bride (2005)
Corpse Bride (2005)
Burton's tale of a dead bride and her living love was never going to stress realism, hence the decision to use stop-motion animation. "It's harder in live-action stuff to make things right, but on this, it's pretty simple. Just make it look like the damn puppets. They're so beautiful and they're so right there." His seemingly boundless obsession with the undead and macabre (who are often more sympathetic and likeable than the living in his films ) was influenced by horror. "I think dealing with the undead comes from growing up in Burbank, and having a suburban feeling of ,like, 'Night of the Living Dead' during the day with the bright sunlight. I just always liked monster movies."
