What's It About?
Burn After Reading sees a return to lighter, barmier fare for the brothers Coen, in sharp contrast to last year's No Country for Old Men. The plot concerns a disc of CIA secrets lost by disgruntled spook Malkovich and found by halfwit gym employees Pitt and McDormand. Out to make a quick buck, the pair hatch an ill-conceived blackmail plot involving Clooney's Treasury agent and the Russian government. Hilarity, and extremely bad hair, ensues. A huge performance at the US box office and favourable comparisons to The Big Lebowski and The Man Who Knew Too Little makes Burn one of the most anticipated films of the season.
