Movie Titles That Spoil The Movie
Sometimes, you only need to hear the name to know how a movie ends…

submit to reddit

Your time is precious, and maybe that’s why certain films go out of their way to make clear what’s in store. Not for them the tease or the slow build; in these instances, the outcome is clear. As Lone Survivor hits cinemas, we’ve gathered together some similarly spoilerific movies. Each of these titles gives away crucial points about how the film ends. It’s thoughtful, really: these could literally save you hours of your life. This article, obviously, contains spoilers!

LONE SURVIVOR

Why it’s a spoiler: With Marky Mark’s big mug on the poster, we’re left in little doubt that he will no longer be accompanied by the Funky Bunch when the credits roll.

1 Don't Forget Empire
Um, doesn't Star Wars: Episode V's title give away that a certain tyrannical regime will kick some serious arse? Another excuse to knock Jedi and the prequels, huh. Praise for Episode I's title, by the way; 'The Phantom Menace'... 'The Phantom Menace'?! *gets dictionary* 'Ghost, unreal vision.' Ah. Clever. A character mostly seen as a hologram terrorises the Galactic Republic. As the threat is staged from within the Senate that too is a phantom 'menace'. Well done, George. More

2 John Dies at the End
What about Don Coscarelli's John Dies at the End? I think that one beats the most of these movies in the spoiler departement. More

3 Return of the King
Ironically JRR Tolkien did not want that as the title of his book....as he too thought it gave the ending away. It was the publishers choice title as they wanted something more uplifting, Tolkien actually wanted the 3rd book to be called The War of the Ring. More

7 RE: they are out there
L: findogask I do know of people who did not know the ship sank... his is true; I worked with a girl who genuinely thought Titanic was 'just a film'. When I showed her that the Titanic was in fact real and did sink she cried for almost an hour...that said she also thought euthanasia was a third world country... More

9 RE: Drivel
Sadly I wish I could agree with you but I think you have to take into account how seriously unreasonable some other posters get about spoilers (and read some of the rants!) More

10 Drivel
What a ridiculous feature. Half of them aren't spoilers and he's even included a "movie" that hasn't actually been made. V.poor. More

11 Come on guys...
...most of these aren't even spoilers. 'I am Legend'? That doesn't exactly ruin it for you. 'Kill Bill'? Yeah that's the title because that's what the films are about, not a spoiler. There's a difference between a spoiler and a plot. More

What about John Dies At The End? I haven't see it yet, I'm waiting for it to be released. But surely it should have been included in this list! More
