The only person in the book with genuine superpowers, Jon Osterman acquired the ability to manipulate every atom in the universe after an experiment goes awry. Being bestowed with ultimate power rather goes to Osterman's head and he convinces himself that he's far beyond the rest of humanity (to be fair, he has a point) and his relationship with Laurie Juspecyk falls apart as a result. As part of the book's plot, he's accused of reaping a sickness on superhero kind, causing him to hot foot it to Mars and wash his hands of those pesky humans. He's also big, blue and a whole lotta naked.
