Gus Fring’s Death

Breaking Bad - Gus Fring’s Death

From: “Face Off” – Season 4, Episode 13

"Again with the explosions, but Gus Fring getting half his face blown off, that was definitely a real highlight moment for me. That was an image I had in my mind, many months before we shot that episode. People compare the teddy bear with half a face to Gus Fring, and I’d love to take credit for that, I’d love to say I was thinking of that all along, but unfortunately that was either a happy accident or on some very deep, subconscious level I’m not aware of, I’m obsessed with half-exploded faces."

"I also had the pleasure of getting to direct that scene and that episode, so it’s very vivid in my memory – it’s also vivid that it took 19 takes to get that shot, which is about 15 more takes than we usually do, so that was another sincere moment of anxiety and frustration, but it came out well I think."

1 My top 5
I thought Saul is not a very good actor and the part could have been played a lot better. I thought the death of the chicken guy was way overdone and not as real as the rest of the series. I would substitute when he killed the kid in the basement, and when the twins crawled on the ground to the altar. Both realistic and believable More

2 HALF MEASURES!!!
I'm sorry but THE greatest BB moment was when Jesse snorted the Meth, grabbed his gun and went to go kill those two drug dealers, only for Walt to take them out in spectacularly gangster fashion! Awesome moment... More

7 The penny drops at the end of S4
I loved the train heist episode, especially the consequences form it but I think my favorite part of the entire show has been the last 5 seconds of season 4. Walt you bastard. More

Gilligan has all the best bits down to a T. These are honestly the best parts in the series, very memorable and poignant in their own ways. Great choices. More
