Slap Shot (1977)
A wickedly scabrous ice hockey comedy from Butch Cassidy/The Sting pairing George Roy Hill and Paul Newman, following the Chiefs, on the skids until they recruit milk-bottle-glasses-wearing psychos the Hanson Brothers. The hair-trigger Hansons take "beating the opposition" literally, as the team goes on a roll. As for sportsmanship, who gives a flying puck? That's entertainment.
