Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom
The Opener
It's in the Raiders sequel's opener that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg really let their love of silly old adventure serials fly. We go from a nightclub shoot-out to a crazy car chase, to a plane, which is abandoned by its pilots, leaving Indy, Willy and Short Round to escape a crash by throwing themselves out in a bleedin' dinghy. Let's not even think about how little it would cushion the bone-crunching impact, because, of course, it then sleds down a mountainside and off a cliff, delvering them to their destiny with nary a graze. So daft it's genius.
